Disposable nappies. Terrible for the environment, and they encourage lazy parenting. If feckless parents had to wash their kids' nappies instead of throw them away, they would either A) think it worthwhile to potty train their children - which should be a given but incredibly is not in this modern age B) be exposed as inadequate parents much earlier, if their kids are seen in dirty nappies. A society where the most basic parenting is no longer done by more and more people, is a society that is broken. I believe certain ethnic groups, where a strong sense of community is still maintained, are not sending any of their children to school without toilet training. To do so would bring total disgrace upon the family. Other groups have lost their way, and seemingly have no values left. Not even the lowest level of self-respect.
I was in a supermarket queue in Brazil 6 months ago and a boy had his nappy changed whilst waiting to pay for their groceries. I'd like to have disposed the mother. You don't see that in Sainsburys
In the very early days of potty training you have to carry a potty around. We had a potty bag nicked while my 2-year-old daughter was doing the necessary at a kiddies trampoline at a Crystal Palace gym. I tell you, they'll nick anything. Worse than Millwall.
Given where you were you should have let your daughter do her business then walk out. The thought of the little palice kiddies bouncing around in the poo.
I was looking forward to watching Harrogate v Gainsborough in the FA Cup tonight. For some unknown reason the BBC have gone with a female commentator who has a voice like nails down a blackboard, and the awful, thick , unintelligible Fara “I fink” Williams as pundit. The new Pat Butcher I’ll give the game a miss.
Turn the volume down and enjoy the footy - when will the world come to its senses and leave things be !
I notice that Gregg cor blimey Wallace has been cancelled. A friend of mine’s daughter was a runner on Masterchef and said that Gregg and John Torode were not nice people.
The technology has existed for decades to allow TV viewers to enjoy football matches with all the crowd noise & atmosphere, but to mute the commentary if they so choose. But Sky and the BBC and others refuse to give viewers access to that option. It's about time they did so.
He seems to be a creep and a nasty piece of work. I've only seen the occasion episode of MasterChef, and did not notice this aspect to the man. Though the pressure and power dynamics of busy restaurants are obviously fertile ground for those who would abuse power. Even at McDonald's abuse of young staff by petty local managers seems as endemic as it is sickening. The BBC suffers a lot from these tin-pot little twerps, who appear to range from obnoxious sex pests like Wallace to really evil scum. And in the wider World too, predators like Al Fayed and his brother. The power that surrounds these men creates a web of enablers who help them. That is the scariest aspect of their crimes, in a way.
I’d like to see women’s fixtures being banned from the BBC’s listings - it annoys me that I have to scroll through these to get to league 1 fixtures- hope this is politically correct
Never fear @Smudger603 this isn't North Korea quite yet... We're doing that next week I tend to agree on your point, though from a slightly different angle. It does annoy me that I cannot tell the women's fixtures from the mens' ones on Sky Sports News. They constantly scroll the scores and results, but the team names are identical. Surely it is not beyond the wit of the producers to come up with an acceptable way to differentiate, so that viewers immediately know the gender of the teams & matches whose stats are on the screen. I imagine this may annoy the fans who want to follow the women's game as much as people who don't.
Yep, bloody awful. Women's international friendlies are placed higher than our professional league. I couldn't care less if Gabon are playing Myanmar.
The most accurate remark I have seen on social media in the last year is .. “Men do not want to listen to women talking about men’s football”. Thats just the truth.
I would agree some men don't. Others probably don't mind. As with all issues though, it's the ones who oppose the current condition who make the most noise. Folks who are content with things the way they are have less reason to actually say that. But the loudest vocal proportion is not necessarily the majority - and is very unlikely to be everyone.
