Is ballard really better for the team at centre half? It's all about opinions but ballard and mepham don't bring the ball out as well as 09nin my opinion
Mepham is great on the ball. Whilst he doesn’t push forward as much as o9 I’m more than comfortable with those two as a pairing.
I love 09 and he’s been in our best ) players this season, but like other players he can’t be guaranteed a start and his body need s a rest. For all his attitude his amazing, his reaction the other night was a bit disappointing.
How many times have Mepham and Ballard played together ?, if they are the best pairing as some think put O/9 in a midfield position as SAFCDRUM suggested Patto Hume Mep Ballard Alese Rigg Dan O/9 Jobe Mayenda / Isidor This team would scare the pants off them, any other line-up worries me a bit.
Like I say mate all about opinions, personally ballard steps out of the line to often and chases the ball leaving his partner exposed
Tonight we will probably have more defending to do than usual and Ballard & Mempham are our best defenders especially in the air. Luke is a liability under the high ball
That’s a tad harsh. Luke isn’t as good as Mepham or Ballard under a high ball but he’s hardly a “liability”
If you watch Luke defending corners you will be grateful there is no VAR. Whenever we play teams that we expect to dominate possession then Luke more suited. Remember he was never a natural centre back. Guessing RLB seen this coming when he made Dan captain.
He's developed into a very good championship centre half, he also can step forward with the ball better than mepham and ballard. As I said it's opinions and the only one that matters is RLB
Hope it's him and Mepham in the middle, I know that will split opinion just think O9 is the best we have for playing out from the back. RLB is the gaffer though and he's not the sort of player who will spit his dummy out.
