Just back. Player ratings: Cerny - 7 Looked ok and did nothing wrong Young - 6 Didn't get forward as much as usual, but looked solid Gabbidon - 7 Another solid display Ferdinand - 7 Much better and back to his usual self Traore - 6 Good going forward, but messed up an easy pass to SWP that should have led to a goal. A bit dodgy when caught in possession Barton - 5 Some good things, but also some terrible passing and missed a sitter! Faurlin - 7 Usual classy self, but left a little exposed and out-numbered by Barton and SWP Mackie - 6 Very lively in the first half, but seemed to run out of steam in the 2nd SWP - 6 Frustrating and loses the ball in dangerous places. Fantastic strike for a goal that apparently should have stood! Bothroyd - 4 Awful HH - 8 Fantastic header for the goal and led the line superbly Sub: Buzz - 2 Even worse than Bothroyd NW - 3 Terrible decision to put Buzz on (UP FRONT!!) with HH and not bring on Taarabt or try anything else different!! Bad day for him!! We played quite well in the first half and should have been 2 up at half time, as, apparently, SWP's fantastic strike shouldn't have been ruled out for off-side!! But in the 2nd half we were truly awful. We never picked up the pace of the game and let WBA completely take over and it was only a matter of time before they scored. NW had a mare today. Bringing on Buzz up front was a truly horrific decision. Looks like Taarabt won't get another chance now which is a shame as we desperately missed his kind of creativity today. NW looked clueless today and cost us the win with a terrible substitution and a lack of imagination or inclination to change things!! Piss poor!!!!!!!!!!!!
Col i think Taarabt will be back for us again, i reckon Neil is trying to make him realise he ain't bigger than the team and not take a place for granted.
@jackbryan8 Jack Bryan Just met Neil Warnock in the M1 services on the way back from Brighton. Top bloke! #nffc #qpr twitpic.com/7nt1w9 please log in to view this image
I thought before we'd only get a draw. At home we always start OK and then tail off, opposite of last season. If we stay up in 4th bottom place I will be happy, I really don't expect any more as the team has quite a few blind spots.
Yeah...but in doing that, he cost us the points today. Bringing on Buzz up front was truly a terrible decision. Taarabt could have been brought on in the same position and never, ever could he have played any worse than Buzz.
Poor finishing/lino cost us today. You can't fritter away all them chances, without getting punished.
I know what you're saying Col, I think that was Buzz's chance to shine and didn't, I would have gone for Tommy or Sean Derry if i wanted to pack the midfield.
Totally agree, should have put on Taarabt, that game was made for him. What about Warnocks comment that he thought that was the best football weve played this year. Is he having a laugh? Thats the closest weve come to playing championship football. Suddenely the ball is always in the air. My neck got stiff looking into the floodlights !!!!
I agree with that, but WBA were completely in control of the 2nd half and our missed chances came on the break against the run of play. The only thing NW could think of to change things was to bring on Buzz, UP FRONT!!! Clueless! Plus, the biggest miss of all came from Barton, who missed a complete sitter!!
You're pissed off your boy didn't come on aren't you! I thought he was showing bad attitude again today, not bothering to get warmed up at all in 1st half. And when he finally did get off his arse, the look on his face, I said we'll get nothing out of him today. Warnock must have seen the same. When did Buzz jump ahead of Smith in the pecking order though?
It reminded me of the frustrating home games at the end of last season....SWP was quality though... Could of sworn terrorbat was gonna come on....I'm starting to miss number 7..
If thats the case northolt why did he put him on the bench ?.He would have been a better option than buzz.As for his future I will not be sorry to see him go.Great at times last season but totally out of his depth this year.
Not very happy today, once again we have dropped points that we should be getting. Cannot see us getting a win at WBA in the return fixture, so once again a 2 massive points wasted. To stay up we must win these games otherwise we will be going straight back down. Beat your Blackburns,Wigan’s Norwich,Swans,Boltons,WBA,Fulhams,Sunderlands,Stokes and you have a good chance of staying up because we won’t be expecting to beat the Liverpool,Arse,ManU,Spurs,Chels,City’s. Yes there will be the odd games where results go for us but we must beat the lower teams. Just like Norwich last week we were done by a substitution and once again NW gets it wrong. ‘Sorry Neil’, but I have stuck up for him on many occasions but today, like last week he made mistakes. Last week we all knew the dangers of Grunt Hulk and they came back to haunt us. Today we knew that when things didn’t work out for WBA playing ‘Long’ up front on his own that they would bring on ‘Odemwingie’ and go 442. Surely Neil with 10 mins to go (being the home team and 1-0 up you shut up shop). Bring on Derry or even Adel to waste time and let them worry about him rather than them letting them attack us and put us on the ‘back foot’. Bring on Buz before Derry,Adel,Smith? Sorry cannot work that one out. We are the home team yet Neil is letting the opposition think they are? Tonight we could have been 8th on 18 points, 8 points off Relegation and trust me we need a cushion with the up coming games. I won’t mention the SWP (offside) because others had chances to win the game. And before Neil moans about the misses or defending like last week, remember Neil you brought those players in and you are the manager. Not happy
I thought he WAS warming up with the others along the touch-line? Although I can't see how he looks from Elerslie Rd. It's not all about him North. Though I do admit I would have liked to have seen him come on instead of the awful Buzz, who cost us the game, along with NW today. Not a happy bunny!!
I think Sir Neil didn't bring Terror Bat on because we were only one nil up, and he has a tendency to lose the ball. He didn't want to risk him giving away the ball which would lead to a Baggies equalizer....Ironically.
