Saves against Luton. Point being that they were cracking saves and Palmer's actually creating chances and trying to score goals. Apart from against Oxford has Omur even taken a shot?
I tend to agree that I’m not convinced yet but I did think he looked better on Tuesday, although that might have just been down to the rest looking so poor. I think he’s useful to come on as an alternative to try and make things happen if we’re struggling to break teams down but not sure he’s what we need in a tight encounter against a strong team.
He put one on Slaters head recently that Slater should have done better with really. Its besides the point though, I see Palmers intent as I mentioned but I also see a bit of wastefulness in him and he often hangs on to the ball longer than he needs to. That would be fine but when you make no effort to get back and help your team mates it doesn't balance out for me. Perhaps a new system will help this.
Hearing some stuff coming out of the club tonight. Seems Walter was a really horrible person to play for. No real coaching skills just a nasty bastard and didn’t hold back on criticism. Didn’t like certain players and had Andy Dawson doing his dirty work with regard to handing out bollokings and slatings. Apparently never spoke directly to Slater in over 6 months. Sounds like a real arsehole. Good riddance. We are better than this ****. Bring on Andy’s Tigers for Saturday.
The other thing was talking about the human aspect of his dismissal. There is no professional love lost at all it seems.
His first game he scored and got an assist. Hasn't had much of a look in since then. But that's more that Omur has done with his single assist in all the time he's been here. Palmer also got 2 goals and assists this season for Cov before he signed.
Sounds like an autocratic prick by all accounts. Bit of a concern that Acun was so reluctant to ditch him in all truth, but I guess he's the one singning the payoff cheque and eating a big slice of humble pie, so perhaps its understandable.. Now I wonder if Tan's heinous crime was simply to speak truth to power. Wonder the same with the Rosenior sacking if he was prepared to support Walter with that structureless, turgid, naive ****e he was serving up every week. Hopefully Acun puts it right with the next appointment and sticks by a competent manager unlike last time.
The players were doing as they were told and keeping schtum but the **** was way out of his depth apparently. So sorry it’s taken so long for this to come to light. Hopefully we see a different team on Saturday at Boro. Same players trying to achieve a result and not getting a kicking from a horrible bastard who blamed his own failure on them.
It's amazing really what's coming out, even if only a small percentage of it was true. I've rarely seen it at City before. Not to this extent anyway. Hopefully the lads and Daws can prove a point by beating the smogs on Saturday. Can't say I'm confident of a result, but I'm sure we'll see a reaction on Saturday lunchtime.
I think we all knew that when he got his nose put out on the fan reaction to goal music, then immediately blamed the fans for not backing the team after a tactically inept second half against Portsmouth. But of course a certain someone will be along sooner or later to blame it all on the players personal "weakness". Maybe he's busy winning the UEFA cup with TNS on champ? Early night perhaps because he has playground duty tomorrow? He's soooo much harder than they players are, don't you know? *From behind his keyboard, obviously.
And staff. Not just ripping into them, bombing them out. Daws took the brunt of that too, getting all the dirty work according to a lot of folk who would know.
He might have been a prat but players know to pass to one another and tackle and work regardless . Maybe with Slater he got fed up of telling him what to do and it didn’t sink in , because without the ball he’s clueless . As for what players go to training in its nowt to do with him as long as they are properly dressed during training , it may just be about old fashioned standards , of which a number on here seem quite happy to see as an old persons trait.
Yeah, I have a job. I can’t afford to stay up until 02:30 during a weekday drinking myself to death like a lonely loser, like you. I’ll wait for your riveting reply sometime in the afternoon when you get finally wake up. On another note, it’s perfectly possible that Tim Walter was an arsehole to players and other coaching staff, never forming a positive relationship with them or the supporters in his time here whilst at the same time a lot of the players are actually just a bit **** and soft.
What did Robins say about Palmer after he left... something along the lines of 'wh=en he turns up he's great, when he doesnt he isn't... and for me, for as much as he hasn't shown what I think he can, Omur is a better player who in all his time here hasn't ben played where he potentially would show his talent.
our players are soft ****s youre the only one talking about being hard and fighting as ive said before our professional athlete players are not playing 90 mins against kalman who is not an athlete theyre against other professional footballers who are athletes, and we come up short
