Gordon wasn't a top 8 player and had poor stat's when nufc bought him. There's definitely some snobbery going on with players we get linked with... me perhaps with Mbeumo it's something we all do at times.
We have got to move away from Bournemouth and/or relegated clubs for transfers. Our best players came from Real Sociedad, Lille, Lyon, AC Milan, Everton and Chelsea. The plodders adding little quality were from Burnley, Bournemouth, Leicester, Norwich. I'm not saying quality doesn't exist - look at Morgan Rogers - but our track record and scouting for the past two years has been poor.
Agree - we had improved when Joelinton/Willock were together on the left, Gordon even assisting from the right. Howe then has to break it up to keep Gordon happy, who on his favoured position has yet another appalling game and we then look lost as the game drifts.
Two much piss farting around has made it difficult to know if doing anything improved things because no changes have been made and left as is for a run or games. It's too easy to make a change, win one game and think that's the solution because they are playing different sides each week. Howe is dragging Joelinton here there and everywhere and Gordon rather than just drop longstaff for Tonali and leave Joelinton and Gordon in the positions they've been playing well in. Even during games he's interchanging every 15 minutes and chopping and changing so many players and positions I honestly can't evaluate whether anything works. Surely you need to make a change and leave it for a period games not minutes to be able to evaluate things?
Agree for the most part. 4-2-3-1 against lesser team, 4-3-3 against better. Then best players in each position. 433 - Pope / Tino, Schar, Burn, Hall / Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton / Gordon, Willock, Isak 4-2-3-1 - Pope / Tino, Schar, Burn, Hall / Tonali, Bruno / Willock, Gordon, Isak / Joelinton Same XI's, minor changes. Then bring players on in THEIR best positions.
Well differences of opinion ion spark healthy debate. But 3 weeks ago most people would have our full backs, Bruno, Joelinton, Willock, Gordon, Isak ahead of villas staring 11.
I just think Villa are ahead of Newcastle simply in terms of their project having had their takeover years before Newcastle. Essentially they've had more time to do everything... on the pitch there's probably not much difference.
Plus they sold Grealish for £100m. I'm still certain the club thought Real Madrid were going to buy Bruno from us for a similar amount
Sutton going for the draw, which is the easy guess. He goes thinks Liverpool will beat City 4-1, I have a sneaking suspicion City are gonna win that.
Don’t bring me into this. I’ve been quiet. And I think we will beat Palace for what it’s worth. We won’t beat Liverpool though.
