VIP WEDNESDAY 1.10 HAYDOCK - BENEFICIALLY YOURS 5/2 - 1 point win This looks between our selection and favourite WHITE RHINO. I tracked both here but we will see heavy ground at Haydock today. BENEFICIALLY YOURS relishes the heavy conditions, WHITE RHINO can cope with them but you would imagine this will be the Mccains horses day today. Past two races have been on heavy ground and where as most have struggled - he has thrived - he won the two races by nearly 80 lengths combined and over half the horses in the races couldn’t get round the track. 2.15 HAYDOCK - CREST OF FORTUNE 5/4 - 1 point win Ran well on hurdle debut should be capable of more improvement after letting fav backers down in the Newbury bumper when 5th in March. Won debut Wincanton bumper on heavy ground so I’m banking on the Haydock bog posing him little issue. Hurdle debut last month was won easily - this race is a lot harder and ROYAL INFANTRY for the Skeltons will post a real threat to use today. 2.45 HAYDOCK - GOOD BOY BOBBY 13/2 - 3 places paid 365 - 0.5 EW Small bet here value is available on 365 - 3 places paid only 7 runners in this veterans chase over 3 miles 1… always brill to see some of the old guard still going at it and enjoying racing… we have some old timers including UP HELLY AA KING who is 13 years old running here today (For anyone interested the oldest horse to win a race was 22… just looked it up) GOOD BOY BOBBY is not a good ground horse so I think we can excuses his last few runs. Will likely go better today. Still enjoys his racing at 11 years old.. hopefully get a good run out of him in what will be an enjoyable race to watch,. 7.10 - KEMPTON - POKER FACE 5/1 - 1 point EW Most established horse in the race and probably should be favourite. Drops to listed company after being tried at G1. Can’t see this price lasting personally. Yes we know ROI DE FRANCE is good and short price fav here - these two should be forecast or there about in my opinion. POKER FACE has been running in G1, 2 and 3 for the past year and doing well in the process.
VIP THURSDAY 1 point singles and 1 point double. 1.45 MARKET RASEN - GETAWAYWITHYOU 6/5 - 1 point win Looks ahead of the handicapper based on previous performances and is partnered with in form Gavin Sheehan. Came very close lat time out, just denied by a head. Good opportunity to win here and continue progression. 2.15 MARKET RASEN - KELCE 9/4 - 1 point win Saver - ONENIGHTINTOWN 20/1 - 0.25 EW KELCE will be popular bet today, he was well supported in the market before the off when seen at Hexham last month but was unable to justify that market support but the second place doesn’t tell the full story. He’s actually up 4lbs today as they were miles ahead of the rest of the field and he was unlucky to run into a good one. An intriguing runner for me in this one is ONENIGHTINTOWN - I’m having a small EW on him. Did a lot of good in the closing stages of his 2 mile 5 race coming from last to finish 5th of 11. A step up in trip today looks ideal and he’s going under the radar here at 20/1. Worth a small EW bet to cover. Total points 3.25
VIP sunday One from Aidan today won’t be too many bets today I’ll post a NAP poll for us shortly ! Kelso 2.40 - TOMMYS OSCAR 13/2 - 0.5 ew Very smart chaser that won over course and distance on last seasons reappearance and ended that campaign beating TRAPRAIN LAW by 2.5 lengths at the Ayr Scottish National meeting and only 2lbs worse off with that rival here. Shaped as if he needed his reappearance run over this course and distance in October and should be able to bounce back here. Looks a nice each way price for this contest.
VIP Thursday Again guys will have a small go today but CHELTENHAM is on tomorrow we will have a go through the card! I might have one more for Warwick - I’ll scan that card again and post before 11.30am if so. 11.47 - NEWCASTLE - LAUDABLE 9/2 - 1 point win 1.35 - TAUNTON - THISTLE BE THE ONE 11/2 - 0.5 point EW 2.05 - TAUNTON - DE TELLERS FORTUNE 8/1 - 0.5 point EW 2.40 - TAUNTON - CHOCCABLOC 3/1 - 1 point win Trying these today and as always trying to land against some of these shorter price favs. Firstly we have the early race at Newcastle and LAUDABLE looks the value here over the improving SWINGING LONDON. Mark is still quite high for LAUDABLE but other than his last run he’s looked up to the challenge - he’s down 1lb today and has the benefit of 3lbs from Kaiya Fraser. Small EW on THISTLE BE THE ONE who made two crucial mistakes when last seen at Kemtpon but still managed 5th place. Needs to hurdle better today in order to be competitive but his standard set in his early bumper runs at higher levels suggests he’s well placed here for a good run if he can do so. DE TELLERS FORTUNE runs for the Henderson team and he looks overpriced and worth chancing at 8/1. He won cosily at FFOS LAS in May and hasn’t been seen since. May well need today’s run but the yard is starting to fire in winners with a 25% win rate and 7 winners from the last 28. CHOCCABLOC has won at class 2 and he’s also been tried at Grade 2 where he was 5th at Cheltenham in January - was well held at that level but todays class 3 race should be well within reach with a good run.
