Yeah this has been discussed at length on our board but it arguably makes it worse. He's paid a 7 figure salary to do what's best for SFC and is failing miserably in pursuit of some absurd ideological goals.

There's differences between him and Kompany too. Kompany was a top class player who won **** loads and played under some big name managers whereas Martin clearly wasn't. He also walked the championship showing he can dominate a league when he has the squad compared to Martin finishing 9 points off the top two.

There's even big differences in the Prem performance of the two. Kompany got 24 points last season and Martin will be lucky to get half that amount.

I disagree on your Dyche assertion. His next job will be a PL one. Martin's will be in the championship.

I also hate the term the 'right' style. The right style to play is the one which wins football matches. And the way he plays is dull as **** anyway.

Agree. Frankly it's a game I'm happy to write off under the circumstances.

I don't know whether he's losing the dressing room but if, as you indicate, he's losing the fans, that spells trouble right there. To be a success at a club you need the fans. Once they stop believing, or like us with Hodgson, never bought into him in the first place, his job's only going one way.

Apparently the players love him but I suspect that's cos he's overly pally with them - which is another flaw - and doesn't work them very hard (we look very unfit).

I do think they don't believe in him though. When at the match you can see some players share nervous looks when we lose the ball in our area and give a chance up. Heads visibly dropped after your opener yesterday too and without the penalty coming from nothing you'd have won far more comfortably.

He's definitely lost the fans. Any who were still on the fence will likely be gone after yesterday.

I think circumstances of the game should say thst in the conditions you were comfortable, dealt with the injuries and scored goals you earned by breaking quickly.

You self destructed with individual errors.

Take those out and you threw one to szoboszlai and scored 2 so could have won.

No manager can legislate for a keeper rushing out and getting completely out of the line of ball and goal or a player stupidly batting the ball down with his hand in the box.

Last season fulham were under a lot of pressure and beat arsenal on a mucky night. That relieved pressure on them and they have improved since.

You've.missed a big shot there to at least be in the touching distance of safety.

Well yes but I'm just pointing out that we actually won due to dully individual errors rather than risky passing at thr back.

Worst we have played even v forest imo but the weather and the player who was out of position contributed imo

"Definitely" is a bit too strong of a word to me. I think we have a chance... if I gave that chance a number it would probably be under 40%. Beat City and I'd probably put us up to 50%.

Got a good lead at the moment and look good but we're not even half-way through the season yet, plenty of time for a slump, every season has a slump of some kind.

Yeah, a lead that can be built in three games can be lost in three games. And there are 26 to go.

Any side with half the players being irreplaceable from the squad available wont win a title without a lot of luck.

If we were just playing 38 games and ignoring all others then sure we have a start.

    Who replaces vvd
    Who replaces quansah
    Who replaces gravenberch
We just saw who replaces macallister
    Who replaces salah.

We need luck with injuries cos gomez, Endo, Jones and lol chiesa cannot replace those players and not even close.

We've done really well with kelleher and Bradley and gakpo and even nunez coming in so there's good competition there.

But we are doing well cos players like salah and vvd are leading us brilliantly, konate is a rock so far and gravenberch has changed our outlook.

If we keep the team around those players going we are going to do fairly well imo.

Well the first goal came from that. And my point in the post you replied to was that heads noticeably dropped after that and without the pen (which looked outside the box from where I was stood, admittedly other end of ground) out of nothing there's no way we'd have come back into that and it'd have been a comfortable 0-3.

The players don't look comfortable with it. It's not just the goals which directly come from it either; it's the fact that your constantly putting yourself under pressure in dangerous which takes its toll mentally and is a recipe for disaster against superior opposition. Which is most of the league.

Apologies, misworded. Was meant to say you're definitely the favourites in my view. From my limited watching you're definitely the best team I've seen.

The City game is crucial, win that and you can afford a little slump but if you lose it might start that slump off and also give them the confidence to go on one of those runs.

If you avoid defeat this weekend I think it'd be a huge missed opportunity if you didn't win it tbh. Nobody else is looking great and you seem to have some decent balance.

On the plus side I'm allowing myself to get slightly more optimistic about the LC match in December. You'll surely put a much weaker side out than you did Sunday for that one and we hopefully will have a new manager by then.

Might be memory playing tricks on me but it feels like you often have a rough patch around Christmas too. I'll clutch any straw I can.

the same applies to most if not all teams but to play the game
    Who replaces vvd - Gomez
Who replaces quansah- not first choice
    Who replaces gravenberch - Jones
We just saw who replaces macallister - Jones or Endo or Morton
    Who replaces salah.- Doak :bandit:
