When I had my own business, our office was in Acresfield on St Anne's Square (opposite the Royal Exchange). Austin Reed was right next door to us. We once got some of their mail and opened it by mistahe. It was an invoice from Timberland. The unit price to Austin Reed in 1991.......... £3.75 per pair
That's probably what the ****ers ate paying per week for the rest of their lives in order to wear them.. I have actually just driven past a man wearing said attire of timberland esq boots tracksuit bottoms and leather jacket.. I have dialled the fashion police so Gok wan is on his way to bum him vigorously..
How long back was this? That's an enormous mark up. All I can say is that I buy a pair of classic Timberlands every three or four years and they could last many years more than that. They are £150-160 a pair and they're worth every penny.
Agreed. I think they look particularly good when I wear them with my trackies, with my trackies also tucked into my socks. INNIT (although I really do have a pair for winter )
this you prestonbrook scallwag - http://www.ents24.com/web/event/Jus...ity-SU-The-Great-Hall-Solus-CF10-2712497.html
oh yeah paid £130 10 years ago for the timbo classics, still looking looking drop dead gorgeous in them today!
The Mighty Wah, eh. One of The Crucial Three I seem to remember, along with Ian McCulloch and Julian Cope. They were the days
You must have noticed though that the chavs never wear the good ones? They always wear the daft coloured ones or the ones with massive Timberland badges stamped on the side. It's like they know they have to seperate themselves from any style and identify themselves as ****ing proles. You would never see the ones I buy with a pair of trakkie bottoms tucked in.
Apart from all the liverpool shirts and daft chanting twas a good night. great to see old Mick jones again, even though for some reason he's turned camp as christmas, saw simonson couple of weeks back at the elephant & castle too, all I need to do now is dig up strummers body from under sweats' patio Iand I can mastermind a The Clash re-union
I'm only messing RR. I've just got the normal ones which have served me well for a good few years now. Although saying that they we **** when it snowed last year - I was slipping all over in them. The chavs down my way are more into Rockport.
