I think Lloris was brilliant for the most part though. Definitely had a brainfart here and there but saved us way more than he cost us. His reflexes and speed off his line is the best I’ve seen from a keeper at Spurs. I felt that in his prime era he was only bettered by the likes of Neuer, Buffon, Casillas and possibly de Gea.
Personally I'm amazed he didn't volunteer to take a free kick in a dead rubber match at the end of the season and twat it into the top corner at some point
I think we were seeing signs that Vicario was becoming more dominant in his area. It's a shame that the injury will disrupt his season and ours. Fraser Foster is not as bad as some think IMO he's just the polar opposite to Vicario who is a brilliant shot stopper. Foster is more likely to control his box better once his rustiness is played out. My guess would be that he will miss more long shots but stop more close up. So that completes the set of our central defence change whether we liked it or not. Our CB's were excellent against City, we could not have asked for more, so it's not all gloomy.
Romano claims that Ange stated that he wouldn't be signing a keeper in January Tom Barclay (and basically every other journo at today's presser) quickly said Romano was wrong: Ange ruled out signing a free agent keeper in January, which means you can ignore Jonathan Gorrie's piece in the Standard where he clearly just went on Transfermarkt and looked up free agent keepers
Those of you who want to sign another keeper in January....which three players get left out of the Europa squad to accommodate Yang, the new GK and Spence?
Postecoglou on the small squad: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c5y5164440zo Our depth is limited because of our club-trained absence and our balance is poor, too. We've got Son, Werner, Odobert and Moore for the left-wing and we're still down to 2, somehow.
I wonder how things would've been affected if we'd have kept Tanganga and Skipp and re-signed Walker-Peters and Edwards? None of them would be in our starting XI, but we'd have had far more depth and would've sacrificed nothing.
Tanganga was already ours and Walker-Peters and Edwards have expiring contracts, IIRC. We could easily afford to have kept/signed all of them and not been close to any sort of penalty.
