Yeah I think this match was completely different to Brighton. That was a bit of a freak game, I think even they’ll have been shocked to come away with 3 points that day.

today other than Gordon’s miss what did we really do and that was from a mistake. All fart & no ****e. We were loads better against Brighton.

So that in itself is a worry against a team who have been **** most of the season.

Is this the worst performance under Howe given the recent performances.

We totally ****ed this up. No other words.

We've lost 4 games already regardless and have looked completely **** in the majority of games.

The situation is going to get worse very quickly now I think. The players all look absolutely miserable.

Welllll, end of the day it’s not Gaza style catastrophe is it? 3 points gone, we take ourselves to Palace

    overall, I say
    • International break broke momentum,
    • Players went and played with different players and cued in to a different vibe (we’ve got loads of international players now!)
    • It’s Monday night
    • We didn’t seem to be concentrating - short/long passes, slower to the ball than the opposition
    • VAR ****ed us in minor revenge for the PSR rules vote
    • Isak had an off game, it happens
    • Kelly was ****, it happens
    • Gordon got too little service
    • Joelinton flattered to deceive from where I’m looking
    • Tonali was on for Sean when it should’ve been Bruno who was lacklustre and at fault for one of the breaks (just “off it”) - Eddie takes that one
    • Football games very often have winners and losers
    • West Ham played a blinder - credit where it’s due

    The sky won’t fall in

What if we beat Palace? It's possible.

This all stinks of nufc fans accepting mediocre results.

And highlights why it’s in our dna.

This wasn’t a bad day in the office.

This was a day where we didn’t turn up for work.

Howe keeps handing these results on a plate. I can go back if people want me to.

He isn’t elite and is never going to take us to the next level.

Ae may however never get to that next level I guess.

Palace are on the up..... Newcastle aren't very good this season... need to win now or Europe is gone.. in all honesty there's at least 6 better sides though imo.

At what point will the club and some of the fans look at the names we're fielding and bringing on? This is the higher end of the Premier League we're supposed to be competing with...we've got numerous championship players.

I’d say it’s ‘likely’ CM - but then I’m not scraping around for misery am I
i DO accept mediocre results GG - cos it’s football and nobody has a right to expect guaranteed wins… many football fans work on the basis that if they’re in the Prem and not in relegation trouble then it’s not bad

Tbh there's nothing the fans can do... the club can't spend enough money on players and the manager is obsessed with Plodders.

The sooner everyone accepts that we're **** the better.. we're decades off the pace.

We’re 4-7 years off the pace … the rules changed when we got bought. It’s that simple for me

That the manager can’t find a place for Tonali says it all. He keeps going back to his 2022 team. The guy has no ability to evolve as was painfully obvious when we switched to 442.

But nothing will change for a while and the best manager out there by some distance has gone to Manchester reds. I fear we’re going to just bump along in and around 9th/10th .

The fans can accept that when I am saying things which are happening right in front of my eyes. Even though they don’t want to admit it. They should be able to see basics.

I said from the 8th minute what would happen today and it was clear unless Howe made a change.

Howe is average at best. But that seems to be what we want even after spending 450m.

Am I expecting challenge yes. Am I expecting fair challenge no.

Abuse needs to do one. Be creative. Not abusive. I have no time for people thinking they are better than anyone of us on here.

    Open……

There's no doubt that we're absolutely nowhere near the top 6.. half the 11 isn't good enough for this league.... there's better players at Ipswich and Southampton. The club can't sell them and they cant buy players that are better without selling isak and Guimaraes.

I've given up on the idea the club can compete tbh... this is the ceiling I think for at least a decade and quite frankly possibly forever.

The season we finished 4th was not much different to when we finished 5th under Pardew, but guess what we're still ****.

Howe will probably leave the club in serious trouble before he's used up his credit.

It's getting worse and worse....those players looked like they're sick of just running around like idiots.

He's done well but the milks turned sour...

    Jayzuz ****ing christ.

We were all over them for the first 10 minutes, then they got a goal completely against the run of play. We had numerous chances in the first half after that and missed a ****load of sitters, ie Isak's volley and Gordon's chance in the 6 yard area getting saved that he should have scored. Any one of these going on turns the game.

Likewise at the start of the second half we looked the most likely to score, the second went in and we were bad after that.

The fact that the headline is "West Ham stun Newcastle with win" shows how far we've come.

Probably right. But then if we’d played to our strengths and not played Joelinton out of position to accommodate Gordon who knows.

Kellys atrocious, Pope should’ve been replaced by Marma, Schar shouldn’t be here, and by God we should’ve used the Barnes money better. Murphy looks evermore like he won a competition and when you’re bringing on Trippier for Bruno in a 442 that the players look like they might’ve seen on FIFA once you know something is completely broken.

That will only grow... we're a poor side on the evidence.. look at the names on our side ... they're not good enough and unfortunately the club can't buy better ones .

Top 6 ? No chance there's much better sides this season.

    It's easier to accept

    Here’s a challenge GG, you’re unrealistic.

Your comments smack of thinking we have any control over spend (see PSR rules, see “fans don’t spend the money or choose the players” concept - and would doubtless **** it up totally if we did), control over formation (see Football Manager role), see History - in particular that the very successful perennial UCL qualifiers that spent their money BEFORE PSR came in and pulled the ladder up; and that there were almost always a swathe of clubs that were better run than ours in the upper echelons and the European slots, and that we have only come under better control as of the Saudi takeover - which has clearly had a local stumble with Mandy and Mehrdad’s departure - and that’ll take time to see dividends (see PSR etc etc) - and see our own very special Relegation dance over the last decade and a half…. which I’ve not seen under Eddie and I appreciate it.

Eddie Howe is good enough right now and has earned more credit than to be thrown under the bus due to some wholly ordinary losses.

I honestly feel embarrassed at the “I want it all and I want it now” aroma that we get here, people need to get a sense of perspective about the nature and size of this game and the elusiveness of the magic…. and that’s not me being personal, there’s just no other way to say it.

Clubs can get lucky and fast forward into giants if the game only by luck, or by timing (ie pre-PSR). The table at the end of the season will be my moment. Not individual draws and losses - that’s childish.

we were **** tonight, I don’t blame anyone for being annoyed. But we’re honestly doing ok.

Fair enough. I refer to the new manager at Man Utd. Look at the impact he has had in his career.

He went to sporting and transformed them. I hasten to say he is up against it at manu.

But my point remains. It happens. Howes done great for us. But he’s now I believe at his peak.

I can’t see him taking us to the next level. And I fear that our acceptance for a club that tries under an ownership model of Ashley has tainted our ambitions.

I am not expecting a team that wins everything.

But I do expect a better performance than this today:
