No excuses tomorrow night - Burton are marooned at the bottom of the table, with only one league win all season and a minus 13 goal difference.

Even a draw here is not acceptable.

It’s time for our players, many of whom are on £6000 - £8000 a week, to step up, stop milking the club, and start to show a bit of professional pride, rather than topping up their pensions.

Even our Reserve side should beat Burton, so injury excuses won’t wash.

This feels like a very big week for Nathan Jones. He needs 6 points off minnows Burton & Crawley, and a Cup win at Walsall…otherwise he won’t be the only one who is “ragin”.

    Agreed.

Our team is a disgrace frankly.
    Promotion challenge?
We need the 6 points you're highlighting @Charles No Likes Hawtrey just to stay mid-table.
Beating Burton should be an absolute given.

Oddly enough I have the feeling we will beat them. But it won't be pretty.

Sadly though I'm past caring about the FA Cup.
Should we beat Walsall and draw even a crap Championship team in the 3rd round, SE7 will go into showbiz overdrive <diva> again.
Posters and half & half scarves for the visit of QPR? <doh>

I cannot see us not winning tomorrow night, probably 1-0 with a penalty, but I am looking at the prices & thinking of unloading the heavy artillery.

As an aside Huddersfield’s first goal on Saturday gets worse every tine you look at it. Not one of our defenders could be bothered to make a challenge, they all literally stood there.

I'll go for a numbing 0-0 and more pressure on Jones.

Glass half full and topped up with ketamine I’m going for a 0-3 win - however I’m not prepared to bet on it <laugh>

I think we will lose tomorrow. The lack of desire and ability in our squad is frightening. As I have said I can't see where the next win is coming from.

I would have lumped my dough on Burton, you can get 9/4 on a home win. I'd have parted with £10 on that.
The South spoons would have enjoyed my little windfall.

Iooks like Thierry Small was "marking" him, but his feet were glued to the pitch.

Please don’t play Anderson again tomorrow night <yikes>

We all know he’s only playing because Slippery CM has told Jones a % of kids must play every week, but My God he’s average. It’s doing him no good, and the team no good either. Can’t Berry start a game for once ?

The rest of the team basically picks itself, it’s thinner than Twiggy’s backside after a curry.

Let's look at themidfield. No Doc, so Allan Campbell is next in line. TT is back out of favour so he might be promoted to the bench. So, Coventry, Campbell, and Berry are sure to start. If NJ wants to play on the front foot :emoticon-0184-tmi: he'll play TC from the start, since he's only 1 of 2 players who can play under pressure Leaburn being the other. Or else he'll play Anderson because of his energy off the ball. I still think TC has something about him and hope he starts.

Blimey, I'm the only one here who thinks we might win tomorrow (of those who have expressed an opinion).

Does that make me the Bexleyboy of Not606? :1980_boogie_down: :emoticon-0110-tongu

Tomorrow's result could be a sink or swim for Jones. Lose and sparks might fly, win and we can look to hoping for a home win against Crawley that could move us up the table.
Orrrrrrrrr to my view, we'll not win and heap more pressure on the next game.

Nervous 1.1 for me. I can’t see the team or Jones has the jacobs to go out and give them a hiding.

    Jones on our current form.

He’s talking about work rate again …you never hear him talking about playing football. Stuff like slick passing moves, etc …

He is so tedious like Seriously Red repeating the same old thing. Wouldn’t it be refreshing if he said we are going to play two wide players and attack them from the off.

For a team supposedly competing for promotion maximum work-rate is a given.
If you have to talk about it, the plot is lost.

We all knew there was an issue when he kept talking about getting in teams' faces.
Are any of the current top 6 teams there because they play like that?

Getting in teams' faces is relegation survival talk.
Small fish in a big pond mentality.
And are we really "rarely out-worked"?
Yardage and pass completion stats might shed some light.

Jones and the Suits should not confuse the huge and admirable away support that Charlton fans show, for any kind of endorsement of the poor football they have to endure watching.
Our travelling fans are the one thing that always makes me proud to be a Charlton supporter.

This kind of nonsense (the above post), all dressed up in the cheap and nasty presentation style the Club has adopted for this season (presumably the same one as all the other Clubs who bought the budget web design package we're using) is nothing short of an insult.

Take the game to 24th placed Burton and give them a good hiding tomorrow.
Then you won't have to contrive this kind of rubbish.
Give those away fans something back in return for their life-long loyalty.

If that's his team talk it explains why we go out not to concede, rather than to attack. It's not working though, because we almost invariably concede first and end up chasing the game (unsuccessfully). The "clean sheet mentality" only lasted 3 games, and even then we were getting outplayed in midfield

No I said we’ll win 0-3 Lardy - we’re as daft as each other <smooch>
