Once upon a time I'd have thought the weather would help us today. It would put the primadonnas of the top clubs off fancying it. That our less talented but harder working lads would work it to our favour. Yeah those days are gone. I don't think the wind affects 3 yard passes between defenders.
My only hope for today is Liverpool having two massive games next week and the number of their players returning from international duty, including three from South America. Having said that, if he benches the three South Americans their replacements will still be better than anyone we have. On the bright side, weather here is great and I am attempting a new bread - panini. Currently on it’s second proof and hopefully won’t stick(er) to the baking tray.
Absolute nonsense from Blackmore. The game really has gone if they called it off for a bit of wind FFS.
I'd like to see TP start and a bit more direct football as trying to out pass the Scousers is a thankless task.
Part of me does hope they might have an eye on their next games but with City losing again think the opportunity of an 8 point gap will have focused them. They'll be desperate to go into the City match with an 8 point lead.
I'm actually quite looking forward to this. Hopefully the weather's really ****ing ****ty to give it a bit of a throwback feel. Expecting nothing except a walloping but stranger things have happened and an early red card or something could make it more competitive than we're all expecting. UTFS
With any luck, somone will have doctored the water in the refs' changing rooms, so all the front-line officials will be unable to take part. Then David Coote comes down from his seat in The Itchen, to offer his services...
