Yep agreed, only thing for me is, with a right footed left back already playing, you need a natural left footed player there to hold the width which unfortunately for him means he’s the only player capable of playing there. Giles is underwhelming and clearly wanting to be elsewhere and Drameh has probably been top 3 players imo
On a side note, Omur has been absolutely shocking this season yet he seems to always start. Is there a chance he has a clause in his contract that he’ll always play when deemed fully fit? Would be going for Longman LW Pedro ST and Kamara RW on tuesday
No player has a contract that says he has to play when fit. Relegation would cost us far more than the cost of sacking the manager, so that theory’s clearly nonsense. Allsop wasn’t responsible for us not getting promoted. There’s some absolute garbage being posted on this thread.
Time for you shags to calm down and smell the coffee. We are in a dog fight without a doubt but three points against Wednesday will make things a bit easier. Time to get the stadium rocking and what better time to bring back introducing the stands prior to kick off. I welcome your thoughts.
Just watched spurs highlights and analysis , draw City in then break quick with 4-5 players - we do the first part but don’t break with any speed . As for Omur criticism he played wide right with only Slater to help him ! He worked his socks off whilst as usual the players around him just watched .
Seen some astonishing garbage around the place. Some claiming we had the fourth highest wage bill last season. It's ridiculous.
5 in 28 appearances for Fener. That was the start of him losing his goal scoring touch (post age 30, which isn't that old for some but was a clear turning point for him). Since then, 2 in 32 league matches (Brazil and here). That's shocking for a CF. And some, including Walter, expect him to score. I repeat yet again, this squad simply doesn't have goals in it by nature. It's just a FACT, proven by actual stats. Most teams have players across the team that are capable of contributing, plus a striker or two capable of 1 in 3 or 4. We simply don't, so I can't see why anyone, including the 'brains team' and Walter can sensibly think we'll consistently outscore the opposition. We simply haven't got the players to do that!! It's mad, and it's such basic facts / analysis that seems to have been overlooked. The only available players who have anything like reasonable proven scoring capability are Bedia, Kamara and Jarvis. 2 of those aren't getting a look in even.
Cult Walters excuse bingo: * He needs a few more games to find his right team. * He didn't have a proper pre-season. * City's best players are out injured. * He got Hamburg into the play-offs. * He needs time to understand the Championship. * He needs another international break to allow time for the players to understand his system. * The players have let him down. * The fans have to support him. * He can't function without orchestrated singing for 90 minutes. * City have periods of playing really well. If they can just do it for 90 minutes and score goals, it will click * It's just bad luck * If City scored all their chances, they'd be your uncle (Not to be taken seriously)
You look at west brom 1 win in 10 Guess where their win came Look at norwich 1 win in 8 Guess where their win came Look at oxford 1 win in 11 Guess where their win came We are sleepwalking to relegation guys
I think Pedro looks a proper goalscorer. Keeps popping up in front of goal and getting on the end of things. If we can give him the ball in the box he will score. He won’t score them all but I’m sure he’s capable of getting plenty at this level.
I was in the camp of giving him more time because the payoff would be huge if it worked. But I watched again yesterday, not really believing that we would score despite the fact we were playing very poor opposition. I was surprised to then listen to Humberside Sport where quite a few were saying that was a much better performance from City. And the closest we had played to repeating the three back to back win performances. Maybe I'm now looking through the performances with prejudiced eyes because I've personally decided this isn't going to work. The problem is now with Acun. If the fans want Walter gone, and Acun holds steadfast, then the criticism undoubtedly will start to focus on Acun and that's not going to end well for anyone.
So I asked that Internet why people (Acun) stick with their decisions... There are a number of theories and concepts that can help explain why people stick with their decisions, including: Status quo bias People tend to prefer the option that maintains the status quo, or what's familiar and comfortable. Psychological biases Other biases that can affect decision-making include social proof, framing, and choice overload bias. Rational choice theory This theory assumes that people make decisions by weighing the costs and benefits of different options. Choice theory This theory suggests that people make choices to satisfy five basic needs: survival, love and belonging, power, freedom, and fun. System 1 and System 2 thinking System 1 thinking is automatic and emotional, while System 2 thinking is more careful and rational. Risk aversion People may be more likely to choose a riskless option, even if they know a different option is better, after experiencing a loss. Analysis paralysis People may get stuck going over information again and again, or find new questions to explore, and be unable to make a decision Take your 'pick' of the many 'spades' presented...
He does ... but ..... he's scored 2 in his last 33 league appearances, over last season and this!! That's 1 every 16 games or so!! Trying to be more optimistic, let's include the season before that too. He's scored 6 in his last 53 league appearances (22/23, 23/24 and this season). That's 1 every 9 games, and ignores the fact that he's about 3 years older than when he scored a massive 4 in 20 in 22/23. Then look at the rest of the squad. The goals just aren't there!! Bar maybe Bedia, who has hardly impressed, but at least isn't past it and has a proven record .... or was it just a 'not to be repeated purple patch' at Servette in the Swiss Super League? (honest question, I don't know). Am I missing something? The squad just doesn't have goals in it, right across it. That said, I still believe Walter is making things worse.
It is the season of goodwill and hull city always do a lot of good work for charity. Merry Christmas Smashy and nicey
