Nah nothing like Romero. Dragusin’s very much a box defender. I like him and think he’ll go quite far but I think King has a point in that he may not be the right fit for this kamikaze system.
OK Romero does come up field but I think They are similar in the box. The other point I suppose is sometimes we need a rooted CB so it's good to have an option like Dragusin
Romero’s also very good at passing it out from the back both with long and short balls. I find Dragusin to be a very solid, backs against the wall type defender. He’d have been excellent in the Prem 15 or so years ago and it’s why he was excellent in Serie A as well as the Euros for Romania. As for needing a rooted CB, I think that’d only be the case if Ange played a system for it which he doesn’t, most of Dragusin’s mistakes have come from where Ange likes him pushing up the field, that’s just not his game. He reminds me a little of Dawson who is one of my favourite defenders for Spurs but Dawson would’ve been terrible in this system.
whatever the system there are games where we are pushed onto the back foot ,like it or not. Today could be one of those. Dragusin is also young and still inexperienced in this team and league. Like you I was impressed with his Euro performances for his country. I think there is a chance he can adapt to Ange.
Dragusin is a right-sided Mickey Van, based on the way he moves with the ball (albeit not the speed) What we need is a left-sided Romero
I think for him to be a real success under Ange, it’ll require Ange to alter his system, something I don’t see happening. If I were to make a prediction, if Ange is still manager by the summer I think Dragusin will likely look to leave as he won’t break up the Romero-van de Ven partnership in this system. That said, Romero’s future could play a factor if Madrid firm up their interest in him.
Mickey Van's hamstrings might play a factor, too It's concerning the r/coys hive mind are already deciding we should sell him because of some arbitrary number of games missed due to injury
I wouldn’t say sell him but for someone so young to have so many hamstring issues then you need to think about alternatives as the club can’t afford to be without him so often.
Kulusevski’s been in the Prem for almost three years now and Jamie Redknapp still pronounces his name as “Kuluchevski”. I mean it’s not surprising as he’s thick as **** but… damn.
I’m trying to think positive about our decent record v city over the last few years. However there is a much bigger part of my head telling me that we are going to get smashed. Heart says close game and maybe a draw. Head says 4 or 5-1 to city. I’ll be watching from behind the sofa! COYS
Probably just me, but surely the presentation to Rodri should surely have been done before the players came out. As Bissouma gets booked in 15 seconds
