Did anyone see the post knocking about of Connolly messaging a lads fan and offering him tickets? The lad living down south said his life is **** and without SAFC he has nowt in his life and it's all thats keeping him going. Connolly reached out and gave him a few words of encouragement and said he would sort him tickets for today's match! Great gesture and quite meaningful coming from a player that has clearly had his own issues with addiction etc...
This extra rest between play may not do us any harm this providing we can keep our concentration. We've a lot of players who've not played for quite some time/haven't played a full 90 all season. I was fully expecting Mayenda, Connolly, Alese and maybe Watson to run out of puff otherwise (they may still do so).
Lads played really well that half, Millwall got on top a bit but we coped well with the bombardment. Get Watson and mayenda running at them in the second half, their full backs don't like it all
Millwall have to push on here, so our breaks need to count … … no more sloppy balls in midfield. If we start to tire I’d have Ba or Aouchiche on to stretch them.
This was always going to happen. Ride the early pressure and we’ll be fine connolly now asked to go off
