We have finally got the man I and a large majority of the fans have wanted to see at the SOL for many years. MON apart from being a countryman of mine (family links in Kilrea) and a keen follower of GAA as well, is the man imo to move this club forward. This should unite the fans and put the feel good factor back into the club and of course hopefully fill the stadium. In ONeill we have a tactically superb manager with man management skills next to none. Ellis also has to be praised for his prompt and decisive decision making over the last few days, well done. I hope and pray Martin gets the support he deserves from both Ellis and the fans as I'm sure he will bring happier times to the SOL.

    Very happy camper today.

SAFC Derry, good point praising Ellis for his no nonsense approach.

Go for him, get him and onward & upward we go.

Atmosphere should be superb next week.

I wanted Martin here years ago, after Reid in fact, now give him the financial backing in January and the supporters come back and support him.

Yes. From supporting sunderland for years, one thing i know is nothing happens quickly. I would therefore think we sounded MoN out at the start of the calender year. Its taken this long to get it sorted. Im sure if the transfer window didn't have a limit on it, we wouldn't actually sign anyone. Goes on for ****in ever to get them signed up.

Ohhhhhh HH you forgot an apostrophe or two, you failed to use a capital 'I', you dropped a 'g' and you spelled calendar wrong! What happened to your 'good education'?

p.s. (I don't actually give a damn abhout it but it HH was giving someone a hard time about punctuation earlier)

**** off Willow. I merely pointed out what everyone who read that article was thinking. I didn't slate him on his article, the substance was good, and it was a good story. I just thought putting in punctuation would have made his point come across easier.

MON has always been my first choice to manage Sunderland, never in my wildest dreams did I think we would get him though.
He seems to have a touch of Cloughie about him. Passionate, volatile with the ability to make ordinary players play out of their skins.

My only peeve with him, was him turning us down previously. When we desperately needed him.

Well IMHO we were in desperate need again, but this time he came up trumps. <ok>

Oh, don't you like someone pointing out your poor grammar on the forum? Well maybe next time you'll think twice before doing it to someone else you sanctimonious little ****e.

Anyway I've made my point - so you can go off and "make good use" of your "good education"

    I hear you there mind.
In his defense though we were a totally different proposition back then. MON is without doubt a Premiership manager with ambitions of becoming one of the best. I can understand he didn't want to drop down the leagues.
That said, if Quinn knocked on my door I personally find it hard to fathom any Sunderland fan saying no.

Haha, I love how you keep bringing up my education. I didn't even bring it up. It was brought up by Vince. Not once have I said it was a **** article, and I did enjoy reading it.

And what is it with dickheads like you that go looking for trouble on these forums? You're always getting into arguments on here, with SAFCs supporters and Newcastle ones... Also, liking the sanctimonious little ****e comment. Made me giggle.

Could also mean we are getting a realist for a manager, who thought he couldn't work miracles at the time.
This time round the structure is there for him to take SAFC onwards and upwards.
