Bloody missed most of the first half... Got back in to see the last 5 minutes or so which I watched through my fingers and with my head in my hands...

We look ragged as hell from what I saw.

Rubin looks like a complete novice out there. Even O'Dowda seems to be having a tough time of it.

Definitely looks like we need a bit more from them in the 2nd half..

Robinson off, Katanga Kanga on. <yikes>

If ever there was a game for his first goal this is it.

For them, Windass off, Pato on.

A win would have been better but I'll take the draw as it looks like we survived a bit of a battering second half.

As an aside, guess who was subbed off for them after failing to score - yet again.....

    Defenders earned the point.
    Colwill not in the game.
Meite was just hopeless and that cameo of Kanga was comedy gold.

We did well to come away with the point there. Plenty of blocks and tackles needed again.

We really struggled to retain any decent possession, which is a bit of a worry as that's 3 games on the bounce now that we've struggled.

Pato lucky not to be carded for his behaviour when he came on. He certainly looked far more fired up than our other ex-player out there!!

As a bonus, I finally have a correct score in the prediction league again :emoticon-0103-cool:

On to QPR at home on Wednesday.

After Bannon today, another nemesis to come in Chair. He always seems to do well against us.

Edit: Chair unlikely to play for anyone except his prison team. He's doing time since February for assault. Another 3 months to do if he behaves.

Just read his Wiki page. He's appealing the sentence so can play until the appeal is heard.

    Just researched a bit more

According to TalkSh1te, in July his sentence, from a Belgian court, was reduced to 150 hours community service and a Euro 1600 fine.

I don't know the circumstances but apparently he and his brother broke another bloke's skull. <yikes>

That's what happens when you get hit by a chair.

I've already got my coat on.

Embarrassing performance - we didn't earn the point we bloody stole it. Overall very poor individually and certainly as a collective.

Don't want to pick on individuals but I'm going to. Forget the recent hype surrounding him - Colwill was fecking hopeless today. He looked awkward, couldn't hold onto the ball and was played off the park by Bannan. There was no one on the bench to replace him and that's the only reason to justify him playing the whole 90+.

Up front Robbo has got no chance in that scenario - he's quick and willing but he's like the Lone Ranger without Tonto. Meite has the delicate touch of a bulldozer - only Tanner offered any real support. Don't mention Katanga - oops, I just did.

In the middle behind the misfiring Colwiil, Robertson and Turnbull tried hard but they were offered some hospital passes by a very slow Goutas and a rusty Daland. Out wide the two wingbacks Ng and O'Dowda had a go to be fair but there was a lack of options inside them.

Two left backs on the bench are a waste of O'Dowda playing there - he needs to be further up the pitch where he can do some damage down the left side. I'd have a go with Bagan and we'd still have Collins as a LB option.

Poor, poor team performance against a very average side who'll be lucky to finish mid table - on that performance, we'll do no better than that.

To describe that performance as “embarrassing” is unjustified and devoid of proper analysis.

That shows total disrespect to the defenders who were totally committed and were instrumental in City getting a valuable point.

Moreover whilst going forward City were second best to describe in particular Tanner as “very poor individually” is contemptible. He was tireless and was my MOM.

If every City player (Kanga excepted) hadn’t put in a shift then it’s fair enough to castigate but to reiterate to call that embarrassing and a ‘poor poor team performance’ (collectively and individually) is totally warranted.

I accept we all see things different ways but I repeat, that was an embarrassingly poor League One quality performance from a Championship side - high on effort, low on skill.

Of course Riza is happy with the result - why wouldn't he be? Getting a point out of that was a steal. No one can deny the committment on show, but I'd have expected that as a minimum if he was managing Newport or Fleetwood for that matter.

In the Championship, that sort of effort will pick us up points along the way as per yesterday, but as far as quality and progress is concerned, we're a mile off. You're talking as if Sheffield Wednesday are world beaters. They're not - just a bog standard mid table Championship side at best who deserved all 3 points but didn't get them because (a) they weren't that good, and (b) we we were "committed".

No one is blaming Riza and the position he's being put in - he's got what he's got to work with and doing a fine job in pulling that sort of effort out of his charges. That said, on to the next game and I hope we all enjoy it - I won't be going again so we should get something out of it.

Given the horrific conditions i thought it was a good draw. Kanga should not even be on the Bench, to bring him on instead of Willock is a mystery. Onwards to Wednesday and we really do need to beat QPR. Highlight of the weekend must go to Gnonto bagging the winner against our meek neighbours :emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Ronny - the old cliche - the conditions were the same for both sides.

Bannan apart, they're an "also ran" in this division but they actually ran the show. It was only they're own lack of quality that cost them 2 points.

I don't blame Riza for his positive post match comments, but to celebrate burglaring a point from a game in which that "also ran" side dominated is laughable.

If "backs to the wall" stuff is seen as a good performance and the way forward then I'm not interested.
