Just had a worrying thought about tomorrow; Storm Bert is supposed to be creating some nasty conditions in the North & Midlands. I hope our game is not postponed. Especially not at short notice.
TEAM NEWS Karoy Anderson, Kaheim Dixon, Conor Coventry and Thierry Small all returned from the international break in the midweek. Will Mannion, Kayne Ramsay, Tennai Watson, Lloyd Jones, Dan Potts, Tyreece Campbell, Chuks Aneke and Daniel Kanu remain sidelined this weekend. Why do our injuries always last for months?
That’s one third of the squad still out injured ….a slow handclap for Hawtrey’s mate “Dr Will” When you consider that “player coach” Danny Hylton is another of the squad, what a mess. I thought the SMT assured us they had invested ?
So, apparently not one injured player has recovered during this international break? Either they are not receiving good treatment, they don't want to play, or both. A disgraceful state of affairs.
Nobody is disputing that they are still injured - at least officially. How many of them are supposed to have long term injuries, and how many were fans told have 'knocks'. Yet even when the Club implies that players have 'minor' or short term injuries, those players disappear for weeks, then months. Do you seriously believe there is nothing amiss with CAFC treatment policy or methods? Season after season we get this. Queues outside the treatment room while the campaign goes down the toilet. I do agree with you however - there is a third option, or rather a third explanation. Too many of the players we buy are crocks in the first place. I'm happy to question their treatment, their fitness and their motivation. Our p*ss-poor season so far speaks for itself. Absolutely no way is there nothing wrong. CAFC is a basket case. As much as it has ever been since we dropped into this league in 2016.
To nobodies surprise other than Methven & Hawtrey’s , “Dr Will” appears to have achieved nothing. A Director of Performance directing a performance on and off the pitch that is as bad as ever.
Without knowing the nature of the injuries it's impossible to say. Chuks is always injured, Ramsey's was always a long term injury, Jones is injury phone, TC was the victim of a horrendous tackle. I won't jump to any conclusions
Difficult game for us. If it goes ahead l see us losing and conceding a very early goal. The injured have exposed our weaknesses regarding squad depth. Even fit we’re still cack.so nothing for us today. Anything else will be a huge plus.
In a word yes. It wouldn’t be the first time a Manager has been economical with the truth. What benefit would there be in saying that all the players out injured will be out for a long time?
