8th plays 13th. Nice to get back to watching some decent domestic football, although we won’t be seeing any at the McAlpine. With only the three lads away on international duty, Nathan Jones has had a full two weeks “on the grass” to iron out the many tactical faults in his team, and hopefully come up with a better style of play than we have seen so far.
Time Dixon got some minutes. He has had one decent cameo and if he's not ready then neither are half the first team.
Could still come on from the bench. There have been games that have cried out for width. Thierry Small would be another possibility.
How many times has NJ actually got it right this season - once? (Birmingham) That's well within the likelihood of random chance. Start listening to FHB Nathan - you know it makes sense
Five weeks ago Nathan Jones said Aneke had a “minor knock” …I’ll be amazed if we see him again this side of Xmas. Without doubt the single worst piece of transfer / contract business we have done in recent years, in a strong competition.
Nathan Jones pre match interview on Charlton TV. He concedes that we have rarely hit the heights so far this season, with only the Birmingham & Bolton games mentioned. He also says injuries are hitting us - as usual with hopeless Terry Smith the in house Pravda, there is no follow up on why we are getting so many injuries again.
The same old hogwash from a failing manager. Birmingham and Bolton. Pathetic. Does anybody care what Nathan Jones says anymore? This season is not even better than last season except by some marginal mathematics. Project Target 15th place is going to plan, just about.
We need a win tomorrow, otherwise we will be in familiar Yuletide territory of a big gap existing between us and the Play Off places. We all know that slippery Charlie Methven is itching for a reason to sell Miles Leaburn in January.
It suits the SMT. “We had a competitive offer for Miles, and it would have been wrong to stand in his way”
Our next three league games are away, anything less than four points could see us drop down a few more places. It could then lead to the same old guff in January, other than a journeyman carthorse wtf will want to go to a struggling third division club. Until the strategy changes getting rid of managers is not the answer. Selling Leaburn in January might raise 50k.
Leaburn is probably worth £1.5m in the current market. Slippery CM’s main KPI is to reduce running costs to as near to nothing as possible. Giving away free match tickets & installing a chicken hut in the car park is unlikely to bridge the gap.
