I'm not sure but I do think think there's a better chance of this vote going our way if they try to tighten them. The first vote on this went through because they were all panicking and some essentially were Turkey's voting for Christmas in another way. If the new proposal is slightly less restrictive while not allowing enough for Newcastle to gain a significant advantage we've got no chance. It's whether they can legally and tbh even if they're still unlawful Newcastle or any other club wouldn't be able to prove that for quite some time and it kicks the can down the road a little longer.... something the Prem League has always been adopting as a tactic.
I can only assume the scumbag Masters is confident they'll win the vote hence they're trying to press ahead regardless
Or desperate to get it through as quickly as possible to reduce the time for Clubs to think and talk about possible Impact and/or alternatives.
Yeah like I was saying the PL must've had a good feel as to whether they vote would go their way. Newcastle will always lose in these votes.... it's like Turkey's being able to vote to cancel Christmas. They're probably still unlawful, but the PL love kicking the can down the road..it's all they do in fact.
As Simon Jordan rightly says, all this is going to do is bring the ESL - but likely Middle East funded - back into perspective. The PL are one of the worst run organisations I've seen. Utterly archaic, inflexible, layering up poor decisions and just being so terminally slow at doing anything we might as well have the FA back in charge (which, ultimately, they will be). The PL will be facing collapse within 2-3 years, because without its 6-8 strongest teams it will cease to exist and the FA will need to reinstate a top flight.
The super league was always going to happen and is merely in delay while they manipulate the situation accordingly. The Americans will have another club soon.
Good luck the PL trying push through amendments. The rules as a whole are unlawful. Just creating a further legal challenge.
We're ****ed on this vote regardless and it's all hold back and delay. They appear desperate to get these in place before the news the previous rules are unlawful in their entirety. This will I'm assuming reset the entire situation rather than see the rules collapse overnight.
Lot of rumours that City aren’t going to be hit hard - if at all - with Pep signing a 2 year extension.
The rules area all unlawful I never had any doubt. Like you said yesterday once their unlawful defences are penetrated the ****house clubs will use it as an excuse to join the super league. The it's not fair or right mental gymnastic when in fact it ls the rules that aren't fair putting every advantage possible in place to allow them to continue to spend more money than anyone else year on year in a competition decided by money. The solution is simple put a cap nobody can go over ...that's fair.
It’s not fair to cap anything related to commercial variables mate in any industry. That’s anti competitive and the CMA will be like rabid dogs over that.
Just have it where commercial deals are reviewed quickly by an external body to ensure it is a bona fide business transaction. From the start to the end. Simples.
It can't be less competitive than the current rules though. It's like a swimming competition where everyone bar 6 swimmers has to swim. in oil with one arm tied behind their backs. The worst part is the winner actually celebrates! They should be embarrassed.
