100 years ago, not being racist would have been an extremist view.

Indeed. And people who weren't racist probably weren't simultaneously holding extreme right wing (for the time) views, which was your initial suggestion.

To be honest I don't get the people who move just because they don't like the political views of others, in fact I followed loads of people I disagreed with as it was still interesting to see, and sometimes discuss, their view of the world.
I think the more 'normal' movement is due to the way Twitter hasn't dealt with spam and bots thus making it less useable.
Interestingly of course Bluesky will get them too, but they seem to be moderating it like Twitter used to do and so I don't really see them.
Also for City content one of the useful things on bluesy is they allow you to create a 'starter pack' which puts everyone in one place on a certain topic (well everyone the person creating it knows anyway)
Alan Hemingway (who I only really know from Twitter tbh) has done a City one so you can follow everyone he is aware of being City content posters with one click, which is handy.
Weirdly if you really don't want to see anything City related (or a better example TWS) then you could subscribe to a TWS starter pack, then block them all with one click too! I'm not sure that's good, but its possible.

BlueSky has been inundated with CP reports since the mass exodus from X.

Just a huge increase since more people migrated to BlueSky. So much so that BlueSky had to address it in a post as it was causing a backlog and issues with their servers.

To be fair, the more social media users are spread across different platforms with different owners the better.

If one single platform becomes too big, the owner can control public discourse to their own agenda and it can have a significant impact on everything from elections to public health.

We saw how Jack Dorsey ran twitter to his agenda and how Musk is doing the same with X.

A lot of people seem to be moving from Bluesky to Mastodon, I must say it’s looking pretty promising and I think I will be making the switch.

It looks like the problem is not the platform but people.

Yes, the platform can only do so much to screen out the toxicity.

It's why (one of the reasons) in Australia there's a bill in parliament about limiting these apps to people over 16.

Partly, but the difference is BlueSky is removing people breaking user rule, bots and adverts as they come up whereas Twitter aren’t so it’s just getting continually worse there.

He had 2.3m followers on X, where he spent all day every day telling Trump supporters they were morons. Now he's upset because having claimed he was going to set himself on fire if Trump won, he's now got people winding him up on BlueSky about why he's not on fire yet. <laugh>

Reiner’s a massive hypocrite. One of the most ironic things about him is he’s lobbied for more ‘social responsibility’ in movies and TV shows, so as not to promote smoking or excessive drinking and drug use.

Later he had a role in The Wolf of Wall Street which, intentionally or not, glorifies excessive drinking, drug use and other ‘vices’.
