Good Morning. It's Wednesday 20th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Joseph strike could give Farke food for thought Leeds marksman Mateo Joseph was on target again for Spain, bringing his tally to six goals in seven games as Spain U21's ran out 2-1 victors over their Danish counterparts. With back to goal, he casually rolled the ball across his body, swivelled, and struck a first time effort six yards out, giving the keeper no chance. Whilst his International exploits have not gone unnoticed, closer to home he is yet to really make his mark. Just two goals and three assists across 830 minutes of game time, is not good enough for a team with automatic promotion aspirations. Despite Joel Piroe averaging a goal every 112 minutes (674 mins total), his lack of pace and poor team distribution puts a big question mark over his capacity to start games. Does Patrick Bamford deserve a chance to re-stake his claim to the No9 shirt? Whilst injuries have taken their toll, when fit, the 31yo has shown glimpses of brilliance, well above the Championship pay grade, yet his overall team distribution too, is poor! Since the 21/22 campaign, he has only netted twelve goals from all competitions. please log in to view this image Leeds United are the biggest club I’ve played for - Bogle Leeds defender Jayden Bogle didn't mix his words when appearing on the 'No Behaviour' Podcast earlier this week, rubbing salt into the wound of his previous club and Manager The £5m Summer signing from bitter rivals Sheffield Utd left a bitter taste in the mouth of Blades fans, and caused Chris Wilder to have a mini-meltdown. His performances since leaving have been encouraging; and even though he can blow hot and cold at times, the Elland Road faithful will look upon his transfer as £5m well invested. He highlighted Leeds winning mentality, strong resolution, and made no quips about who the biggest club in Yorkshire were:- "Obviously you have conversations before that about certain things that you want and stuff. But it happens quickly. There were rumours, so I was sort of aware. At the time I think it was just them (Leeds). "I didn’t realise how big the club was until I went. You feel it straight away. Just the atmosphere, and like when you’re pulling up to the ground, you can just sense it. It’s got a winning feeling to it as well, the club knows how to win. All the club wants to do is win. The expectation is there but it’s good. There’s pressure, but you need that. Leeds United are the biggest club I’ve played for. You feel it straight away. Happy birthday Matt. Re Joseph, it’s better he scores for u21’s than not but I’d read little into it. U21 is kiddies football and enough has been written about the hundreds that have passed through our network. Curious to see if Wober and Solomon return unscathed or pull sickies again. If they’re unavailable Sunday they should be blocked from internationals going forward
Thanks pal! There are definitely too many international breaks, especially with a 46 game Championship plus Cup-runs.
It's Firpo's birthday? Didn't know he shared it with the great man. When you reflect on your big day Ell, I hope you're able to say 'Matt's had worse'
