Interesting choice this Saturday. Step forward 30 year old Lewis Smith. Seriously being fast tracked. He was doing National League only a few years ago and made his PL debut last Saturday at Brentford last weekend. He does not appear to have officiated a City match.
Going to want to do it by the book then to impress any assessors. Best keep Siopis out of the way then.....
Didn’t rate yesterday’s bloke much. Too inconsistent. No yellow for a canary wrapping himself around Colwill Anyway Matt Donahue up next at Luton. Was the man in the middle at Derby earlier this season.
Groan. Stephen Martin is the man in the middle in the QPR game. He couldn’t keep time last season allowing Birmingham to score in the 3rd minute of the allotted 2. He’s one of those referees who seem to think the fans have come to watch him.
Martin. What a complete t*sser and poseur. James Bell up next at Coventry, he’s another jonah for us.
Aren't they all at the moment. As for Martin, a gym bunny on steroids. Muscular upper body and skinny little legs. Sh1t refs, we only get sh1t refs!!!
I feel like I’m paranoid about refs but we constantly get the mucky end of the stick week in week out. That lino saw Chambers flapping his hands but from the same distance couldn’t see Robinsons shirt getting pulled in the first half
It’s the familiar Olly Langford again on Saturday. His 3rd City game this season (draw at the rust bucket and win v Pompey) after 5 games the previous season (inc the 2 late late shows v Ipswich & Soton) and Watergate at Rotherham in the previous season.
He was a bit of a banker for a while but a different consonant came into play a season or 2 ago. In saying that there are worse than him out there. I think we will need him on our side on Saturday.
I actually quite like Langford. He seems to want to be the "nice guy" unlike that poseur Martin who wants to be the focal point of the game. There's a fair cross section out there and we've had a few over the years like Keith Stroud and Simon Hooper that we'd rather we hadn't, but I'll take Langford any day before them.
James Linnington back at CCS on Wednesday. Well up until a few seasons back he was our 12th man but it all went pear shaped at the Liability stadium in 2021-22 season (although we didn’t have him last season) and from then he’s been a Jonah including a red card for both Bacuna and Jack Simpson in heavy away defeats.
