Is there anything to suggest their attitude isn’t what it should be?

The fact they’ve been banished to the U21s maybe?

Do you think two players with over 200 combined career senior appearances are banished to the youth squad for anything other than attitude? Not even warming the bench

We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes but I’d like to see Aouchiche still involved. He’s been on the bench 5 times so far this season in the league, I hope he’s back there on Saturday. He’s got ability

    He’s playing again. Central midfield

Ba and Aouchiche are like coiled springs and don't always bounce the way you'd like or expect them to when they're let loose.

But if they're controlled properly, and directed well, they can be a huge asset to the team, especially off the bench.

No disrespect to to Watson, Rusyn, etc, but those two can dramatically change the dynamic.

The goal at QPR when Aouchiche flew down the left, screamed the ball across to be met by Ba on the run was absolutely unstoppable. I know they can be frustrating but that's where the coaches need to step in and harness their talent. I'd love to see RLB find a way to include them but they'd need to be truly assimilated first ... not an easy task.

Mowbray knew they had talent but would never have figured out how to play them.

Most people I’ve spoke to don’t fancy us for a result

I think we’ll come away with at least a point

    … I thought I was the negative one <laugh>

You're talking to the wrong people ...

... the way some talk you'd think we're playing Man City every week.

'This will be a much tougher game than people think' <doh>

I have no idea what to expect Saturday which can be a good thing because neither do Millwall, you can’t prepare a game plan when you don’t know what team/set up you’re going to face

Along with others, I've suggested a back 5 due to the lack of midfield numbers. I think this would blunt our attack down the wings too much though, which is how we are used to playing. Isidor up front with Connolly playing as the most advanced midfielder/ number 10?

He’s been really poor so far up top never mind playing elsewhere. I half hope he’s on the bench, just hasn’t done it up to now

    Thanks for posting that mate.

My Dad was a drayman for Vauxies. Would have started earlier than them lads in the post for sure, but he has some tales to tell about his time. He was the younger brother of a couple of amateur boxers in Sunderland who were well regarded - in and out of the ring, through the 60s. I suspect he had his moments as well. To hear him talk about working for Vauxies and the lads, you can imagine the bonds they will have had in future years. The beehive was certainly a haunt for him.

He moved us out to Weardale in 1970. He started taking me mid 70ish to night games only as he worked most Saturdays. He taught me how to behave in pubs. I always had to stand and let others sit etc. I remember once a scrap broke out and he chucked me on the seat and said dont bloody move and stood right in front of as if nowt would get past him. Soon as it was done I was back standing <laugh>

By the time I was going on my own, early 80s, I was on a mini bus from Weardale. I know my Dad had the big lads on there looking out for me. They did as well. By the late 80s I was a bigger lad and taking a younger brother. I got the talk from Dad, which in short was any bother you stand in front of him. Problem was my little brother was a radgie bugger, and often finding his own version of bother while I was supping and doing my coupon!

Went to Millwall in early 90s. Took the younger brother on our mini bus. Mam was really unhappy but Dad was ok with it. We had some likely lads on our bus, older and wiser, and they wouldnt let us wander off. That day we saw zero bother. Had a few pints, ground was fine, walk back fine too. I think my younger brother was disappointed to be honest <doh> I always felt much more wary at some of the yorkshire grounds to be honest, some of those places really were like walking into an Edgar Allen Poe story.

Sorry for rambling, but the drayman bit got me reminicing.
