I personally would have left it in place as the administration required to decide who gets it and who doesn’t will likely eat up most of the savings it’s designed to make. NI, we will have to agree to disagree as I don’t think it will make any difference to prices or employment, Most of the consumer companies have introduced several price increases to there products over the last few years, based firstly on energy prices and then inflation, and it hasn’t had any real impact on what we do and don’t buy. If anything it will be used as an excuse not to lower prices now inflation looks better.

I always wonder about this. If communism doesn't work, or Marxism or Socialism whatever. If it doesn't work, why do the West (The USA basically) spend so much money, time and effort fighting it? It's not for humanitarian reasons, we can see that plainly with the history of US foreign policy
Well apart from the fact it's not removing winter fuel allowance from most oldies ... the most vulnerable in society won't be affected ... ... and the hike in NI is for employers - again it won't hit the working man in the pocket ... Shifting the burden of taxation to those who can better afford it seems reasonable to me ...
