It's almost as if there's always gonna be a small group of people who want to stand near the sway fans. May as well make that first chapel block safe standing?
I still think the kingsland/Northam corner would have been better place for the away fans to be honest. Then you'd still have the Northam "wall", but also the atmosphere with the away fans. (And yes, before anyone says it, I'm not sure how it would have logistically worked but there would have been a way, goddamit)
I do not like the new set up in St Mary's in the least. The exit from the ground now means I have to go in the other direction and walk further to get back to my car. Getting through the Fan Zone is a nightmare and it adds about 15 minutes to get to Bedford Place. Added to this, I am always worried about getting a parking ticket as the limit is 3 hours which means it is no longer possible to walk back within the alotted time, I never use the fanzone and just feel it has made it a pain in the backside when you want to get away quickly after another defeat. Not impressed. Don;t even get me on the App for the season ticket ! Never seems to work and there are issues with the PR code being scanned when the sun is too bright. I can well believe the statement from my IT bloke that approx 50% of pps do not function as they should. Complete rubbish!
Access to the ground for home fans hasn’t actually changed? I know they said it was going to, but the reality is if you sit in the Kingsland and access the ground via Melbourne street industrial estate you still can. Only difference is the away will be going in and out that way too. Not had any issues personally with the app or scanning the qr code. I’ve found it surprisingly easy to use and haven’t heard anyone else having problems with it. However I believe the club will do physical season ticket cards or physical tickets for matches if you request it. Think some on here have done that?
Same here - no issues at all using the QR code from the app. Works flawlessly. Same with leaving the ground, no issues at all. Well there is one. I leave with the away fans down the road and i hate seeing all the happy smug faces.
Yep; I've only been twice this season, but I've purchased a physical ticket both times. **** the digital app!
They lock the gate after matches between the away fans and the chapel stand, so if you leave the chapel you have to walk out past the megastore and round to get back to Melbourne Street or walk
Yeah I got a physical card for my season ticket. Though after the first game they started uploading my ticket to the app for some reason so they had to send me another one.
The app has worked fine for me every time so far. We now park near to Ocean Village (rather than near London Road as previously) to avoid the longer walk back. As such, our walk is now shorter rather than longer.
Yep, ticket app flawless for me. Was a bit skeptical but every match we’ve been to, we’ve wizzed through.
App works fine for us Restricted access to Chapel is a pain and will affect us if we want to get the 2150 train home after an evening game as we can’t get to the bridge as easily as we could, so we’d have to leave early So far, the few we’ve had, we’ve stayed over
I really really really don't like the new stadium layout. Having the away fans to bounce off can make a difference to atmosphere especially when you're ****e and I liked having the different pockets in different places. They should have at least put some safe standing in the chapel as well imo. Given the permanent nature of the away end barriers and I'm guessing we'll be offering clubs 3k rather than 2k next season too?
Yep I sit opposite the away fans in the Itchen and all I can say is that they are louder now (to me). Also I don't get why we have swapped round the kickoffs - now all it means is that the away team attack their fans second half as the Chapel is quiet anyway.
As the skates look like staying up been thinking about this a bit more and it'll be really annoying if we have to give them more tickets than they're entitled to next season if this turns out to be the case. Would really show poor foresight/organisation from the club too. Hopefully the clubs can come to a recripocal agreement on allocation given they won't want us sharing the stand with them there either assuming the bubble is in place.
The club will come up with something. Half the clubs in the Championship will struggle to sell 1500 tickets - the club won't want to leave a block or two unsold on a regular basis.
