No don't think I am. I simply said that I do not believe that everything that occurred in Amsterdam was in relation to the provocation from the Israeli fans. I have been around various movements and trade unions for all my adult life and have a very healthy mistrust of all mainstream media. Maybe (due to personal reasons) I ain't been clear so I will try again. 1. Israel should be treated like apartheid S Africa was and should be shunned by the international community. 2. The terrorist attack of 7th October does not, can not, and will never justify the mass slaughter of Palestinians. I felt the same about 9/11 and was very active against the ensuing illegal wars that Blair and Bush started. 3. Israel has been allowed to abuse and break an untold number of international agreements and laws supported by the US and British Governments. 4. People hide behind "but Hamas are terrorists who hide in civilian areas so the mass slaughter of civilians are on their heads" to either play down or defend the atrocities caused by the Israeli state. 5. Other people hide behind Israel's inhumane treatment of Palestinians to vent their racism towards Jewish people. 6. And a third group, appalled by Israel's behaviour seem incapable of distinguishing the difference between the words "Israel" and "Jewish" 7. The demonisation of the pro Palestine protests is no different from the rights demonisation of every "left" movement. As regards to Amsterdam I was saying that to deny that there was anti semitism at play in some of what occurred is fanciful and dangerous. The demonstrations in Britain have been excellent, however the press use the very few examples of anti semitic images on home made placards to argue that London is a no go area for Jewish people. Pretending that a tiny minority of anti semitic scum aren't trying to use this situation to spread their hate is simply wrong.

When one of the few politicians who has spoken out against the lies is an ex Foreign Office Tory Minister now in the House of Lords. I am astonished to find myself applauding a Tory Lord the polar opposite of my normal position. When these lies and gross injustices have been directed to the Palestinians ALL of my life. When Abby Martin US Journalist went to Tel Aviv and we hear from their own lips that they want Genocide. In this context I do not feel disposed to give any benefit of doubt to Maacabi.
It is also the case, and I am appalled to have to say it, if you are of working age take care about getting involved in this debate. We have already seen people losing their jobs and prospects by opposing Israel. I, like Garry Linekar, am retired and do not have to worry about that anymore.
