Great news Snaggey, a real shot in the arm for you all.
When our kids were at an age I said I didn't want to be a grandad...how wrong was I.
The pleasure they bring into your life is indescribable, made up for you and yours mate.

Thanks for all the kind words lads, all very much appreciated.

My daughter posted the news on her Facebook page last night, she wanted to wait until 12 weeks before letting her friends know. It all seems very real now, and I can't bloody wait.
I took her to work this morning and gave her a big cuddle, her and the little kiwi fruit.

    Brilliant, nice one mate :emoticon-0148-yes:

Just think of all them models you painstakingly built the little un can break now :emoticon-0148-yes: <laugh><laugh><laugh>
I remember making a vespa 200 model kit when my eldest daughter was a toddler. I don't know how she managed to get it from way up high and break it all up  <laugh>
I've still got it in bits, I'll post a pic when I sort it out <laugh>

I also remember the mrs telling me the eldest was pregnant and it seems like yesterday. He's 11 now and started high school this year

I started collecting hot wheels cars for him before he was born as I was convinced he'd be a boy <laugh>

All the best to you all and savour the moments, they grow up soooo fast :emoticon-0148-yes:

    Ere @Snaggey
    Do you use an airbrush?

I'm thinking of getting one of these but with the tank.

I've hinted at the mrs for a Christmas present <laugh>

I've got one with a tank. There's lots of brands about, but basically it's an AS-186 compressor. I bought mine from Amazon about 4 years ago, £80 and it came with an airbrush. The airbrush was OK, but not great. I've recently bought a new one, a Harder & Steenbeck Ultra, excellent bit of kit.
You can't go wrong with that compressor, but definately get one with the tank.
Fengda is a popular brand, but they are mostly generic compressors with different branding.

    And so another one begins....
Time to turn all these bits into something that resembles a Land Rover series 3.
Couple of weeks I reckon for this one, maybe 3.
Love getting stuck in doing one of these, couple of hours a night, doest half take my mind of other things.
    My "me" time.

Congratulations, being a parent is absolutely brilliant, but being a grandparent is a whole new level. I’m fortunate to have 2 grandchildren and absolutely adore them and now realise that I spent too much time working when my daughter was young and missed out on so much. It might be just me, but as you get older and have a little more time on your hands, I think you tend to appreciate the simpler things in life like the laughter of a toddler (and handing them back when they start playing up). When the time comes, hope you enjoy every minute.

I don’t think it’s anything new, Gordon. I have a vague memory that a similar group, or even the same one maybe, have been trying this for years now.
I have to agree with you. November 11th is a day to remember those who died in the service of their country, and it shouldn’t be hijacked for any cause.

Maybe there were bad things about colonialism, but can’t they see that the armed forces we remember gave their lives purely for the defence of us - nothing to do with colonies.
Once again a minority who expect the majority to instantly change to suit them

Anyone heading to the town this morning over the wearmouth bridge I'd go a different way. Traffic is horrendous.

So they spend an absolute fortune narrowing roads down the beach to put cycling lanes in, only for bikes to just ride on the now narrowed roads and two abreast.

People that insist on squeezing their car in between two parked cars in a carpark with about a hundred free spaces. Can someone explain?

What gets me is when I park my car in a good space no vehicles near and plenty of other spaces available. Then when I come back someone has parked very close next to me with loads of other spaces still available. Why?

I've had a few rows with the odd Eddy Merckx who find it beneath themselves to use cycle lanes ...

... they think themselves so superior than anyone with a basket <laugh>

That reminds me of the time I went to a Luton away match in a gorilla suit that was quite realistic. This was early 70's before anyone went to matches in 'fancy dress' or whatever, I don't think there were even any replica shirts tbh. I was in the Sunderland end when the police arrived and ordered me to take it off.

When I explained I was totally naked underneath, so would be committing an offence, they relented and said I could just take off the head. When I asked why, they said that I might frighten a young child ...

... at which point one of the lads said 'He's more likely to frighten someone if they see his real face' <laugh>
