But he can be made into one if he becomes the subject of a witch-hunt. If people start making false accusations against him then plenty of people will start to sympathise with him and those making the accusations will achieve the exact opposite of what they intended. I'd be very careful about falling for any serious allegations without solid evidence.
Why the hell would you let someone film you snorting coke? Why the hell would you let someone film you snorting coke if you're famous? Why the hell would you let someone film you snorting coke if you're famous, and not a musician, but in an industry that would punish you for that? Seems like he has made a lot of bad decisions.
Perhaps being on coke had something to do with it. I wouldn't know - never did anything stronger than weed.
Most importantly, how long has the PGMOL been sitting on these tapes? Surely this will become a case for the National Crime Agency?
No. There's not one mot of direct evidence of a crime par se. It's a coke head and party animal who got photoed away on tour with other refs and hookers. The smoking gun hasn't dropped yet. The middle east rolexes and favours to a certain club have not dropped. I'm waiting for this as there seems to be a stream of stuff building up
I’m with you, there’s more to this than meets the eye but for the leagues sake, I actually really hope that’s it’s just a vindictive ex rather than a crime syndicate or bribery. I would like to know how PGMOL employees are vetted and how regularly - stuff like this is preyed upon by sinister forces…..it needs to be watertight.
So do referees have regular drug tests like players do. Wouldn't be surprised he has if there are and he has failed before and has been covered up. Do start to get the feeling there is some very shady stuff going on in football think there is too much money for shady people to not be involved just hope in this case its Coote being a twat and nothing more sinister.
If he is/was being blackmailed, then it absolutely IS a crime that should be investigated by the NCA, and therefore the whole PGMOL.
I think (but am not sure) that the first video looked a complete set up where he was off his face and lead into talking. As such i am.less inclided to go the angry ex route. I think you might have his phone being opened by these guys and gone through for stuff. Or a hacker. My thoughts are A) why wait with this to now? The first video is years old. Coote is not admitting anything so that's is making be suspect he is in serious association covering mode B) each successive leak of detail seems malicious and salacious to destroy him. The picture of several England officials together with Asian women at a table. The texts to a young person C) what else is there to drop? If you had hard evidence of match fixing would you start with that? Maybe but I've no experience with destroying someone. So when I look at this in the round coote digging his heels in and not simply coming out and admitting he eas off his face suggests he knows more than he has let on so far about this process. He must know whoever has the info on him and was trying to make out it was fake. At this point he should at least have asked for help with addiction to get out from under this. As he really hasn't said anything even now there may well be more to come.
I've amended it to show the worst decision he made. I'm not being judgemental because I know how difficult addictions can be. He needs help. While it was by far from being the kindest way of bringing this out in the open, now that it's out there it could actually save his life.
Christ on a bike, they're making a right martyr out of him - ****ing bizarre. Maybe you need to be Uruguayan for the DM to get things in perspective?
Aye, the message is that he broke the 11th commandment, therefore he is the victim. The football world is turning itself upside down because they can't paint Liverpool as the villain this time. More comical than tragic.
Maybe the hackers want to catch out as many nevilles and keys types as possible. Maybe they will drop a massive scandal where he has taken money from the middle eat and is on camera flaunting a gold roles or whatever. Maybe they have texts showing negotiations for spot fixing etc. Who knows. I do think insulting klopp was the least of his sins so leading. With that right after a strange decision v villa is very odd to my thinking
I have no interest in David Coote beyond his performances as a referee, which I have consistently called out as lousy. Anything outside of that is between him, the others involved, and the law (if it has been broken), and is of no more concern to me than if it was about someone I'd never heard of. If this affair exposes corruption in the game - then like the City charges it needs to be thoroughly exposed and cleaned up for the sake of us all, regardless of club allegiance. Beyond that I've no desire to gawp at the sordid details of someone's private life.
The whole thing is escalating very quickly into something nobody could have envisaged. I just hope that it ends up being of a bizarre and ill judged nature rather than anything more sinister. I've got no interest in the man's at home behaviour other than if it's leading him down a dark path then I hope he gets help.
