I don't want Billy Sharp if he would only sign for us on massive wages. Why on earth he'd rather play for Donny on average wages than play for us on reasonable wages, I'll never know. Greedy barsteward
even if what you are saying is true and newcastle are interested, it still doesn't mean that we'll sell him
BBC said Connolly is still injured - and judging by a) our bench today, and b) we've not replaced Lambert with a fellow out-and-out striker, I'm inclined to think they're right. Saw a clip on Football Focus today of Connolly missing a penalty for Ireland in their shoot-out vs Spain in the 2002 WC, now you mention him.
finally a voice of sensibility - i never said we would sell him all i did was pass on what i heard thank god the transfer window isnt open all year - i dont think i will bother posting stuff i know you guys get ripped off by people claiming this and that but people need to learn to sort the wheat from the chavs
i dont think he was really being greedy - apparently he was offered a wage and accepted then cortese changed his mind and lowered the deal...
I can definitely see a striker coming into our club in January. Whether Lambert will go or not is another matter, I don't think we would let him go cheaply, but never say never in football, but I think he is not playing today because he picked up a knock against Hull.
The chances of Lambert going are very slim - he's signed a new deal and he's said himself he wants to finish his career at Saints
To play devils advocate though, it is not unheard of for a player/manager/chairman to say one thing and then do another shortly afterward. I guess we will have to wait and see.
i dont expect people to believe me - as per the above - but... i asked about parhars and his injury - he said it was really weird - parhars had a bad ankle injury but not career threatening after he was first out with it and it healed he came back but kept complaining about it being bad - aparrently there was nothing physically wrong with him but it was a mental problem but really strange as he was a class player also aksed who his fav player he played with was and he said bret ormerod maybe old news but he said lowe always sold one big player and that most of the £m's went in his pocket and some of the other directors also said about england camp was really clicky, no players mixed only stayed with their club teams, he also said danny murphy got slated for this but he was correct when he said that players used to say im going to play fo rme to get better deal, bigger teams, endorsement etc
I think it's imperative the club signs a striker in the window, whether it's Sharp, Maynard or someone else, being a bit thin in the striking department. Saints in 'Brazil' away kit. Hopefully that'll inspire Guly.
