He has tolds friends he is over the moon with the appointment and he has a 20 mil war chest to spend in the january window to strengthen the team
SB was told he still had the Henderson money available to him, was expecting Ellis to put his hand into his pocket for a bit extra to be honest. Ah well, 20m and we got MON and the skunks got humped 3-0, not a bad after all is it?
20 million + whoever he sells I hope, not sure who will go out the door though, but that 20 million could turn into 30-40 million.
We're all guessing that he will buy 2 players for 20m, he may go for more, as everyone is saying, he is very astute in the transfer market. And one things for sure, he will definitely attract the top player unlike his predecessor. The future is bright lads.
I fully agree... The future is very bright... Whatever happens in January we are certain to see a few changes and I'm 100% positive that they will improve the team.
A left footed left back is what the contributors on this board have been chuntering on about so I'm surprised to see attacking midfielder mentioned. IMO we need the former more than the latter as well as a striker, he will mold our current midfield players into a decent premiership unit and more - we have some useful players and he will maximise their potential and inspire a "dare to fail to win" mentality as he did at Celtic, shots galore with some going in, exciting times.
Maybe some of the money should be invested in red seats, the SOL looks so much more vibrant on older youtube clips.
there are the two chelsea palyers could we get either? apart from that very few players want to move i can think of we could pick up
It's blindingly obvious that we need an attacking midfielder and another experienced forward. I certainly havn't been chuntering on about the left back position and feel that Richardson will be good enough to see us through the remainder of this season. Our defence is ok... the primary problem is a lack of goals. That IMHO is the priority and therefore if we were to see 2 new recruits in Januar, those are the positions I would look to fill subsequently followed by a natural left winger who can cross the ball. However having said that, I'm very happy to sit back and watch MON assess the squad.
also if we sell some of the crap in the team and players MON doesnt want (which always happends) we may have more
Why dont we all give Martin a month to find out what we 'need', i for one will be interested how he uses the same players!
Exactly MO. Why would we tell anyone what money we have or have not got. I think money will be available but MON might wait until the summer to begin yet another rebuilding of a team for SAFC.
20m for January would be very good for the club if it happens we need a proven goalscorer that will set us back atleast 10m then use the rest for a creative midfield player
