There will certainly have been some who abstained from voting in protest. But every exit poll and survey since has pointed to the economy, immigration and Kamala Harris' inability to articulate a single innovative policy as their main reasons for abandoning the Democrats.
Can't be arsed to watch the video plus I don't like that little obnoxious shhite in it, but will give an honest view on the little I saw of this through the media... When they said these fans had attacked Israeli's I sort of questioned very early in the reports why a Palestinian flag was being pulled down. So I'm like thinking, hang on, have I heard this wrong, because it looks to me as if Israeli's would be pulling that flag down, not the supporters attacking them. Unless the supporters attacking them, don't know their flags or even care. Unless the supporters that are attacking them, came about because of prior aggression shown by Israeli fans. In the end I came to the conclusion as in all football violence that both sets of fans are just morons and I sided with neither. I was then somewhat surprised by Netty's comments though, that Israeli's should not attend any events in Europe this week, which seems a bit of an over-reaction, but maybe this is not the sort of everyday thuggery I exeperience, and there may be areas that are not safe for Israeli's but it was a bit of a broad-brush in my eyes.
I thought it was more the economy to be perfectly honest, voters going on about the price of food. Not dismissing what you said though.
In truth the democrats lost their base when they chose Hilary and her corporate backers over Bernie Sanders and the blue collar workers.
The muslim vote definitely did. But would say that was only a relatively small demographic. They had far larger problems
I like Sanders. Obviously disagree with his views on Israel but he is one of the few politicians in the entire world who actually appears to care about the people he represents.
Trump won the election by less than 3.5 million votes - there are over 3.5 million American Arabs ... never mind the huge number of students demonstrating against the war / destruction of Gaza on College campuses throughout the year ... no impact on the election result? ...
... 'abstained' ....you obviously didn't watch the election build up and the numerous interviews with American Arabs - pretty consistent voting for Trump intentions - because they blamed Biden and his administration for supplying the munitions for the deaths of over 30,000 civilians in Gaza ... not rocket science - but absolutely rocket death and destruction...
When I looked a day or so after the result Trump had won by 5M, but now when I look it shows 3.2M so I'm guessing Kamala harvested just less than 2M votes from somewhere so people could blame it on the Arabs.
As far as I've seen, Harris was down over 13 million votes compared to what Biden secured in 2020. Even if every single American Muslim abandoned the party over Gaza (infinitesimally likely), that still leaves over 9 million unaccounted for. I think it's time we all wrapped our heads around the fact that for the Average Joe, the key issues taken into account in the voting booth are: keeping the house warm in the winter, putting bread on the table, sending kids to good schools, protecting jobs and getting good healthcare for elderly relatives. Biden was judged a failure on all of these. The overwhelming majority of people couldn't give a toss about what's happening in Gaza and certainly won't waste a once-in-four-years vote over it.
In FosseWorld, Hilary Clinton received 3 million more votes than Trump in 2016 and is therefore the rightful 45th President of the USA. #stopthecount
