I've been working in this job for 20 years, every "new" idea is a refresh of an old one and these people are paid well.
Remember during my time with one of the 'Big 4' accounting firms - came up with an efficiency idea during one meeting which the office hierarchy just ignored - roll forward 8 months and one of the more Important Partners in London came up with an 'initiative' which was a virtual mirror of what I'd suggested - same office hierarchy almost whack one out as they announce it to the office - but best bit was when they asked for any questions and one of my closer colleagues asked - "... isn't it just what [Me] suggested back in [ ]..." embarrassing silence and a few chuckles from the rank and file before one of the Senior arseholes say "Ermmm ... perhaps similar..." Bunch of nepotistic ****s - same in every organisation mind..
Yeah they steal ideas, because they have targets to. Although with decent bosses you can receive renumeration in other way, so to play the game so to speak. Generally though the boss will steal the biggest financial idea.
The boss of our office tried to pass one of my ideas of at his . Only thing was i was at the meeting he did it in and in front of his boss i was able to say " Jeff if you are going to pass my work off as your own you could at least have made sure you understood it as you've missed out this vital part " happy days though tbf Jeff gave me an A in my annual report
The one that “peed” me off the most was “let’s throw some engineering around that”. **** off you pretentious twats, I’ve spent 4 years as an apprentice and then went on to complete an engineering degree. I don’t “throw” engineering at anything!!!!
you are not engineering right if you are not throwing it about. my boss doesn’t understand anything other than production engineering. The clever stuff behind design and development is lost on him, he thinks someone sat quietly is not working. it’s true, I’m not working, I’m weaving magic in simulation and design to earn contracts to keep your machines busy with work. Unless it’s OEE, he is lost.
Managed to get a 'welcome back' Christmas box from Virgin wines, £65 delivered. Haven't even looked in tbh, just stuck it in the garage. I think it's four sets of 3 same bottles of red. Looked decent enough, and I'll be good for roughly a fiver a bottle.
According to Virgin, £13 a pop individually. Which seems a bit steep! Bar the Tempranillo, which is £11. Still, bargain tbf.
I ordered something different from the local Indian takeaway. It’s a Chicken Tarka . It’s like a chicken Tikka , it’s just a little otter .
Was about to post the same. Not cheap stuff but some great bargains from these lately. The half price Grenache is particularly good. So is the South African Sauvignon Blanc. Have a good search around the site, some great bargains. You don't have to order a minimum quantity either https://www.thegoodwineco.co.uk/
Morning. Got invited to a marketing conference thing later. Absolutely no interest or benefit to me going except it’s a nice venue, food will probably be good and a few drinks after plus not doing other work. Expect it to be floor to ceiling with half decent clunge.
