It's certainly possible to see it that way. But portraying a centre-right party (even if they've drifted a little further to the right) as being on the extreme right, is engaging in a highly polarised, adversarial form of politics that is reminiscent of the politics of 1920s Germany, which is what led to the politics of 1930s Germany.
He didn't do that though ... .... to paraphrase he simply said 'some of the language sounds a bit like'. And it did.
They started it! I get your point though mate. It's not good at all, these last few years. Too many problems and not enough solutions. What doesn't help imo are the people/bodies/groups who use discontent to further various aims. Doing this by cosying up to the discontented, promising that they can help even though they have no intention or ability in doing so.
I don't mind Lineker. It's the show that's the big problem. Still does not need 10 mins of arrows, circles, shaded areas showing where players have been/should have been. Highlights only please.
I like it and it helps me show my 15 year old son where he should and shouldn't be. Great show, hopefully they maintain the standard
Hopefully whoever the next person is it's someone who focuses on discussing football and not being a smug smartarse. I haven't watched MOTD for quite a few years but I could get back on board. Wouldn't mind a total clean sweep including pundits.
Wonder what the ‘political commentary’ haters thought of Clarkson when he called Brown a one eyed idiot because of his disability.
They love it, because it's all partisan, people like when they're the one landing the punches, they don't like taking them. That goes for both sides.
Mark Chapman for me. He’s always been top as a presenter. I like Colin Murray too! Just listing ex Radio 1 presenters really!!
I have grown to like Colin Murray as a presenter. Couldn't stand him at first because of his broad N. Ireland accent but now wouldn't mind him at all as MOTD presenter.
Chapman looks most likely and would be a good choice, I like Colin Murray though good shout that. Competent presenter and brings a bit more of a natural lighthearted style, Lineker and his pals are all stiff as a board.
