A short video about how the rains are impacting on the Valencia economy. For the first time I couldn’t get some basic food stuff from my regular supermarket last week. I put it down to being a logistics issue as the goods I couldn’t get are produced not grown.
**** that's not good. Spain braces for torrential rain as new weather system reaches Med coast - BBC News
My area has had a thunderstorm on and off for 2 hours this evening. Where I live there is little chance of issues that have been seen elsewhere. The weather people and the Guardia Civil seem to be changing the most likely area to be hit on my Facebook feed. Yesterday they said Murcia region would be hammered, then today they were talking about Alicante region being hit. They were also saying that it wouldn’t hit until tomorrow, but it’s arrived early where I am.
Parts of my urbanisation lost their electric power briefly during the storm and we all seem to have lost our water. Something must have tripped somewhere. Hopefully it will be back on in the morning especially as I had earmarked the day for baking and will need to be able to wash up and wipe down surfaces.
This was posted on facebook 5 hours ago and it like the same areas are getting hit again. Saw photos of cars, in Malaga, being totally wrapped in plastic film and one car was literally tied to a lamppost. Fingers crossed for them all. Very adverse day due to very heavy or even torrential rains in several areas of the Mediterranean area. → Special attention in the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Valencian Community and Andalusia. In areas of Tarragona and Malaga the danger is extreme and we have active red warnings starting at 10:00.
I ordered something different from the local Indian takeaway. It’s a Chicken Tarka . It’s like a chicken Tikka , it’s just a little otter .
A man goes into a pub carrying the head of a teenage boy. “This is my son” he tells the landlord, “He was born like this, and it’s his 18th birthday today, so I’m buying him his first pint.” The beer is served up and the dad offers the drink to his son’s lips. “Go on, take a sip” he urges the boy. The son takes a sip and immediately, a neck and torso appear below the head. “Wow!” says the excited father, “Take another sip!” The beer is sipped again, and arms and hands grow out of the torso. “Again!” the dad urges, and the lower abdomen and legs grow rapidly, leaving the boy standing naked on the floor of the bar. The boy excitedly runs around the pub, until he finds the door, whereupon he rushes outside, into the busy road, straight into the path of a car, which knocks him down and kills him. The pub landlord shakes his head sadly. “Should have quit while he was a head”, he says”.
A guy was hunting when gust of wind blew, the gun fell over and discharged, shooting him in the genitals. Several hours later, lying in a hospital bed, he was approached by his doctor. "Well, sir, I have some good news & some bad news. The good news is that you are going to be OK. The damage was local to your groin, there was very little internal damage, & we were able to remove all of the buckshot." "What's the bad news?" asked the hunter. "The bad news is that there was some pretty extensive buckshot damage done to your willy which left quite a few holes in it. I'm going to have to refer you to my sister." "Well, I guess that isn't too bad," the hunter replied. "Is your sister a plastic surgeon?" "Not exactly" answered the doctor. "She's a flute player in the London Symphony Orchestra. She's going to teach you where to put your fingers so you don't pee in your eye."
Will be interesting to see how this is resolved. https://www.ft.com/content/beed76da-1509-4c60-9e7d-1a8e9ddf8d17
This photo was taken at Elche, which is very near Alicante airport (the airport’s full name is Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez airport) was taken yesterday evening.
