Don’t think I’ve watched MOTD since we were first relegated from the PL in 2005, is it still popular? I thought with the amount of different ways you can watch games/highlights now it would’ve suffered
I do watch MoTD when we have had another dodgy decision, to see what their view of it is, they have mostly been sympathetic, but their words are meaningless, as PGMOL and its members appear to be imune from any retribution for their failings?
Even if they do get some form of punishment (not allowed to ref for a game or two, or completely replaced if they consistently are bad) ultimately it doesn’t matter as the damage is done. Who knows how the game on Saturday would’ve panned out if our goal was given
Yep, assuming the video is true, it undeniably shows there’s bias & although that doesn’t mean it makes its way onto the field, it’d be pretty amazing if it didn’t.
It's because it is hypothetical, there is very little that can be done. In any other industry mistakes like this would see litigation suites flying everywhere.
Scott is very good and would be the kind of person you would think the BBC would like but may be a bit soon as it is their flagship program. Perhaps give her MOTD2 while Chapman takes this giving both development. Another option would be to have a different anchor each week.
I think it likely the BBC has not offered him an extension as he is too outspoken and the BBC likes to be apologetic.
Why? If it was Aluko I would agree but Scott has lots of experience and is a decent pundit though probably not yet ready to anchor.
Personally, I hope the BBC use Lineker's departure as an opportunity to increase the highlights of each game and reduce the analysis. I want to watch football, rather than listen to ex-players rant about VAR, **** defending and spout bollocks in general.
I thought the highlights rights were based around time, so not sure if they can increase the amount of game time shown. Wasn’t that why MOTD was only 30 minutes long when the presenters went on strike, because they couldn’t add any padding.
Yeah, I think they are allowed 8 mins of match action from each game basically as part of the broadcast rights agreement - or something close to that
I watched games while they were happening or on different platforms than MOTD if I couldn’t watch the game live. I’ve never really cared what ex pros have to say about us generally, and during that time I preferred Skys coverage when Neville first became a pundit
Coote now caught running the line on World Cup duty. He also doesn’t like travelling to Bournemouth. https://apple.news/AV0AU1O34RBKneTccLBpuxQ
Now he is ****ed. Being caught on video snorting coke while on Euro 2024 duty. That's the end of his refereeing career.
He only did it to keep the integrity of the game in tact and so Davey could get help Sure the Sun waving a few grand around had nothing to do with it
