Wilson wide, Connolly/Mayenda up front and then likely we get to see Aleksic. This is good for the squad, it has to be tested at some point and this is the purpose of having one. Tommy Watson, Aouchiche, Ba and even Jewi all a step closer as well. This is a silver lining.
Their last game ... Stoke 1-1 Millwall Overall Possession Stoke City 72% Millwall 28% Shots on target Stoke City 3 Millwall 1
And they’ve been battered in every game they’ve won. Scored 8 of their goals from set pieces. We play 3 CBs with wingbacks and break with Isidor Watson and whoever. Easy the only part of our team not really affected is defence. Apart form right back which O’Nien can cover. So we stop them scoring and win it
Wilson wide is far from good for the squad. Best striker we’ve had since Stewart (better imo to be fair) so why play him wide?
The only other wingers we have fit are Tommy Watson and Jewi. Also, RLB has proven to be conservative in his selections and usually only goes with tried and tested, so statistically I'm expecting to see Wilson on the wing.
Most of the good teams I've seen over the years tend to play to their strengths regardless of the opposition. I maintain the view that, if we do so,we can beat anyone in this league, home or away. Of course,we should be aware of how Millwall play, but I don't believe we should change our approach. Yes,the squad depth is going to be tested a little, but that's opportunity for players coming in. We're top of the league, with an excellent first third of the season....I'd like to think Millwall were more thinking about adapting their style to cope with us rather than the reverse.
Not too keen on that mate. would be like starting with two men down imo. rather we played with just the two up front it would suit our squad better imo especially away against Milwall 4/4/2 or 3/5/2 for me. Back to 3 up front at home
Other than our regular formation the only other one we've seen so far is 5 at the back when defending a lead. RLB could break from what we've seen so far, but if we change formation I'm expecting a back 5.
This is the start of the decline according to some and the Speakman haters are starting to engorge....
O'Nien could do a job there. Let's face it, he could do a job anywhere on the pitch. Patterson Ballard Mepham Hjelde O'Nien Rigg Neil Aleksic Cirkin Isidor Connolly That might work... 4-0 Millwall then
Onien definitely could. Could also rotate into a back 4 in attack with cirkin being the more offensive wing back
Oh I know that. But having our top scorer who has been superb up front out on the wing is not good for the squad imo.
That looks good to me....I've messaged RLB to ask if he needs a Chat Haut to help with his team selections.
