was just looking at the latest Norwich signing ............... Norwich City have signed former Brentford and Bournemouth forward Emiliano Marcondes on a one-year contract with the option of an extra year. The Dane first came to England when he joined Brentford in 2018 and later scored one of the goals in a 2-0 win over Swansea City which helped the west London club win promotion to the Premier League. Bournemouth signed him on a three-year deal following the expiry of his contract that summer, but he only played 24 games in three years for the Cherries, scoring seven goals. "He gives us other options up front," says boss Johannes Hoff Thorup "He can play as a 9, he can play as a 10, he can play a little bit on the left side." a £1.5m rated player for free mazing if he gets regular game minutes and scores a few goals! I wonder how many players are in Prem or other clubs like top contenders of the championship [ that 5 or 6 that seem to regularly dodge between prem and champs ] that are just make weights but canny managers or teams pick them off and give them regular football. Played 43 games up to U21' s scoring 10 goals. half his time at Brentford he was injured but was "injury free form 2021-24 " ... do we miss out on this " out of transfer window opportunism"?
looks like being quite a different ENGLAND LINE UP with 8 players out ... 3 or 4 of them being the core!
what an absolute waste of time this international system is,no good to the clubs who lose any kind of momentum or to the country when half the squad withdraws- totally devalues playing for your country, still as long as somebodys making a bundle from it everythings fine eh,
the extra euro games the bi annual need for a massive gathering of international teams every 2 years does very little to enhance our season [ all teams ] if on a roll it is a pain in the neck as that momentum can be lost ,, besotted with injuries then a blessing from above ... for the fans usually a couple games in a couple of days ...OK maybe a chance to see players in action you wouldnt normally......... but nothing like the real think when you are winning and progressing up the league
Tommy Conway was determined to leave and didn’t have any belief in BS3 apparently turning down a record contract offer flat. Not interested at all in staying. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/tommy-conway-middlesbrough-contract-brian-tinnion-bristol-city/
They didn’t say why he wasn’t interested though, was he offered a contract when Celtic and Rangers were interested then a lesser one later, we’ll never know, it’s not something they are going to discuss in an open forum really is it tbf.
the clue is in the following .................. "has revealed that Tommy Conway "was not interested, not one iota" in the record contract offer for his age made to him" The stance of not paying a wage related to ability and position [ thats first team squad ] is a real blocker at AG .. when players like bird/ mehetmi/ dickie /knight/etc would be on double his offer! you can see why. Age is an artificial concept ... a footballer you pay for their ability mot because they are 18/19/20/25/29/ etc...... here you are Tommy A NICE NEW CONTRACT up grading you from £1500 a week to £ 4000 a week ............. really! should have been worth at least £10k a week achieveable with basic plus add ons ... win bonus goals scored assisted etc and a super bonus if promoted top 6 bonus etc could easily have "gambled on that amount" ! and put in a buy out clause of say £15m first year rising next year by?%
NO we do not, but when you see accounts published and estimated salaries paid BCFC has a "chart!" / "wage for age" until 22 or 23 . unless they buy in! ONE city player always published on £x per week never reached that figure until he left and was paid more than double at new club~!
there always has to be security for the player thats why they have x years .. look at Benarous! turned it all down flat .. well likely agent advised!
No one barring TC and the club knows what was offered. Been alluded that he was offered a great deal. Tinnion also said it at the fans forum. Whether or not they changed it after the Celtic offer is speculation. As to working it out on club accounts is bollocks as it won’t say what individual players wages are.
