Realistically any pro-footballer should be able to strike a ball at goal, fair enough that was exceptionally sweet and powerful. I’m not sure how many players would expected to do what Wilson did … … and don’t forget he’s not even a striker
He gets to the ball about a quarter of a second before the goalkeeper and tries to knock it past him lol, what else do you want him to do in that situation? He’s running onto it as fast as he can and by the time he touches the ball there’s about two yards between him and the goalkeeper, which isn’t a lot when you’re being closed down that quickly. It’s not as big a chance as you’re making out imo. One in one in the box with all the time in the world fair enough but it’s just something out of nothing that he gambled on and unfortunately their keeper had a good starting position to close him down. Think it’s really harsh to blame us losing on that. Roberts not putting in the ball in the net from 2 yards out in the first 15 minutes or so was a bigger miss than that. I agree with what they’re talking about though, we have no idea. I said at the time I’m glad he’s showing passion, that’s what you want from leaders on the pitch just wasn’t sure why it was being directed Wilson’s way
I said I don’t think there is a single point of blame, the defence, the chances. The Roberts one was different as it was so early it probably had no impact on the outcome (I.e. We score that the game changes, “butterfly flaps it’s wings in china “ scenario! But imo the Wilson one he should do better with. There was no excuse for Fan Neil not either scoring himself or passing an easy ball to Connolly who had an almost tap in. Same when Connolly got the ball and could’ve played Wilson (I think ) through, tried to score through a crowd of players himself instead of laying it off. Think he’s trying a little too hard personally. Always the next one. Without some of our most important players!! Easy!,
Just watched the Wilson one back he’s tried to lift it in stride. It’s both difficult and he probably could’ve done a little better. Keeper has made himself really big though and isidor has a split second to make a decision
Yesterdays and the one v Oxford are up there as top top strikes, how many prem strikers could have scored both or either.
It really highlights that we need to be creating more chances for him though. We can’t expect him to score worldies every week! We can see the lad can finish so get the ball into him in the box as often as possible to give him the best chance of scoring
Spot on. I don’t get the wingers not crossing! He’s a big lad as well as being great with his feeet. Very much like Quincy in that respect. Stick it in front of him
The Roberts one, like Dans is par for the course tho. and is repeated all too often imo. Isidor is far and away our best centre forward . Jack Rudoni on Saturday was the problem that Reg and our defenders didn't see coming..
Alese, Ballard and Patterson all expected to be back for Millwall Poveda not back yet, working on building up his fitness (again) Mundle and Browne to be assessed this week Samed early December Seelt January
I said this earlier, the coaching team dropped 2 points on Saturday Over run in midfield, bring an extra defender on?????????? Move your best striker out wide, bring on someone who cant hold the ball up and hasnt scored since last season instead of the hungry young powerful forward?????? Someone needs to have a think about it, threw it away
Yes the coach gets the praise for all the good he has done, he also has to accept criticism when it goes badly wrong. Changing the formation on Saturday was wrong to many of us. I hope lessons are learnt.
Give the kid some slack. 19 on a four year deal and can’t speak English yet. He was always going to be embedded in slowly
Long term signing, not necessarily for the here and now. Not that it will stop people moaning/criticising...
I havnt criticised him have I? I am wondering why he is on the bench and never been on the pitch, dont give a **** about his language, its football, not a thesis on nuclear energy
Be scratching his head a bit, won’t he? 11 games on the bench - not a single second on the pitch There’s been good opportunities to introduce him late on in games too Derby (H) 2-0 up Oxford (H) 2-0 up Those two games were perfect late on to give him a few minutes at the end.
