100% agree with this. Those are the 5. Sheff Utd have a look of a really effective side, and have the squas to keep momentum. They are my idea of gavs at this stage. Leeds I think are dangerous, but also look beatable when not quite on it. Burnley will get stronger, so will Boro.

I think we have an edge though. I look at our spine and think for the first time in seasons it is strong. Patto and Moore as back up is good. Mepham, ONien and Ballard look as strong as any cb unit. Neil (i know i know) keeps the defence and midfield connected. Jobe is just unreal, maybe the best CM in the league. Wilson looks better and better as a CF. That goal yesterday was ridicukous. Mayenda. I just think we look really stong through the middle. We have two full backs that most would want in this league. Mundle and Rigg are real wildcards. By the end of the season I wouldnt be surprised if Rigg is regarded as one of the best 8s in the league. Wait till next year with him though and ge will be unplayaable at this level.

If we can add 2 high quality players in Jan, in the CM and the right wing position (pace) plus a real cover fot Hume, then we will take some stopping imo. I really wish Huggins was fit!

Add in players yet to find their feet or fitness. Browne, Connolly, Alese, Seelt, Abdullahi, Samed. Why not us. Enjoying the excitement.

Agree with all of that mate

The January window will be huge, I do hope we add some genuine quality and shift out the likes of Rusyn and Johnson (loan).

Already bored now there’s no game to look forward too, realistically what do we need? Right winger competition for Roberts? Full back cover and a midfielder unless samed comes good? Wouldn’t mind us going in for poku at Peterborough, really direct and goal contribution numbers are always quite high

Hjelde is better in the middle than people believe so far imo, Mepham plays right back and Alese can also come in ...

... I'd like more players but we already have some becoming frustrated because they can't get minutes.

We aren’t massively short anywhere really so 3 probably is a stretch! Hjelde gets some unfair stick based off of a few appearances in a basket case half season, I’d like to see what he’s got to offer, players like him I think he can come good, would like to see wide competition and a few younger lads to develop in the background like mundle last year

A fully fit squad would be more than adequate imo.

We'd all like cover in all positions, as good as the current starters, but that's virtually impossible ...

... as you say, some of those starters were written off a year ago, much like Hjelde, Poveda, etc, are now.

I've a feeling there are players, like Rusyn, which the club still have future plans for.

Also,I'd like to have a look at the players we haven't seen yet...Samed,Aleksic and Abdoullahi. If they're up to it and we can get our injured players back in the New Year,we shouldn't need to do much if anything in January, apart from a bit of shifting out. Right wing maybe.

3 signings at most I reckon, I'd love a really exciting young RB to challenge Hume

A winger, ideally a right winger to challenge Roberts as Poveda isn't proving his fitness at all since coming in

A CM is a must, if Sameh isn't the answer and they don't trust Aleksic yet then they probably need 2. On paper those 2 look quality, just need to see what they are actually like on the pitch

If we sign those 3 then the winger and CM must be ready to compete straight away

I really like Roberts who is an entertainer however he flatters to deceive ,does not score enough goals as he should and does not even provide as many assists as he should so I agree the right wing is a realistic target to strengthen in the upcoming transfer window . The failure of Dembele and his subsequent loan has left us short of a right back , yes we have players who can fill in but a specialist in that area should be on our wish list if we want to continue our push for promotion . I am sure Mr Speakman and the recruitment team will be working hard behind the scenes in an effort to unearth more gems for Reggie .

You can’t have TOO many GOOD players if they can’t get in to the team or even on the bench you have to question are they GOOD enough for an ambitious club that we are turning into , we can’t afford to carry passengers .

Considering our progression planning signings of the past, they'd be silly not to sign another young right back, I agree.

Not a good time to be saying it, but I'd still just aim to cope with our low rb numbers this season. Trai Hume is generally pretty robust and has really good availability. Huggins is high quality and worth being mindful of when it comes to squad building. Maybe there's a world where he makes it back to the first team this season. Other than that we have a very large number of defensive options. I think we should aim to keep it at that. Yes it feels worthwhile when Hume is missing for a suspension. The other 43 games a season are more problematic - and could cause us a bigger problem in terms of player development and squad harmony.

Defo agree about an additional midfielder and a bit of additional help out wide, though. One I'd hope we're looking at is Kwame Poku. Usually a bad experience dealing with Peterborough, but it seems that he's out of contract in the summer. He looks ready to step up.

When it comes to a winger, they should be looking at an improvement on Roberts. Not because Roberts isn't good enough, but because we need to keep improving.

I really dunno why Poku didn't get picked up in the summer. He's out of our range financially.

Is he? League one winger who is out of contract in June? I'd be amazed if they get more than a few million. He joined them as a first teamer so they can't claim to have done academy development with him.

I've just looked at his stats. Blimey! 10 goals and 5 assists in 15 games, this season

Would Hjelde be able to cover in midfield for Browne in the Millwall game?
    Neil, Rigg and Hjelde.
