I don’t think anyone here is calling for the manager to be sacked but it’s right to question the club and what’s going on with the results.

I've been a huge supporter of his but I'm questioning Ange for the first time.

I can live with inconsistency and the occasional mare of a performance, but the sheer frequency of it this season alone - and usually as a result of the same basic errors being committed over and over again - suggests to me that he might simply lack the ability to change it on the training ground. His ability to motivate the players is definitely an item on the agenda as Ange himself has mentioned twice recently in post match interviews. If he's questioning himself in that regard, it's fair for us to do so too.

In my opinion, we played better in defeat to Villa last season when we had Davies and Royal at CB with Gil and Lo Celso in midfield, than we did in the defeats today, against Brighton, and against Palace.

That is almost impossible to comprehend and does imply that we are regressing.

All we had to do was beat Ipswich at home and we’d be 3rd. Seriously thinking of just giving up on football as it ain’t happening. I hate them so much. Destined to walk the streets forever thinking of the what if?

He’s right. I want to blame it on Europe but it’s more than that. We are just so weak. At least I’m used to it these days so I can get over it pretty quickly!

I felt the same earlier. Bit crazily we are still only 3 points off third so no point losing your **** too much. We will probably win the harder game that’s typical spurs

Today was the day I’ve been beaten into submission by those ****ing idiots. I’ve tried to stay positive for 35 years but what a waste of time. Just liquidate or something and end th misery.

Yet we are only 3 points off third and still in all competitions. This year it’s even more tough. If it wasn’t for Liverpool bucking the trend all fans would all feel the same. The premier league is closer than ever and if you are not on it you may lose like we did today

Keep your chin up mate. We are actually in a far better position than we have been many times over the last 35 year, it’s not that bad really!

Liverpool's start to the season makes ours that much harder to stomach, given that we were a pen stroke away from appointing Arne Slot as manager before he withdrew his interest at the 11th hour.

I can't help but remember at the end of last season Alasdair Gold spoke of Ange considering killing one or two proverbial darlings to move forward, but that never came to pass

So far this season it's been hard not to believe that Bentancur and Maddison were the likeliest of names given the injury blighted performances they've given us for longer than we'd like, the former as he can only seem to influence games off the bench but less as a starter than means he's morphed into Moussa Sissoko while the latter has only showed glimpses of the player we thought we signed after his injury last season and doesn't seem to be recapturing his initial form to any consistent degree

I still think Ange is no worse than Arne. We have to be patient. It was ****ing **** today and I was there! But for us to juggle Europe and the premier league is really tough and we always struggle. If we start going on a long consistent losing run then I will get worried. But we have always bounced back after a loss and as long as we keep doing that I will keep the faith.

The optimism is a nice touch, the comparisons to what happened 30 years ago, not so much.

This is precisely the Stockholm Syndrome ENIC have dined off for two decades, relying on the fact that we remember when things were much worse than they are now, so better not believe that the grass should be greener.

From where I sit, things are worryingly close to being exactly the same as where they were 30 years ago. Our league form is almost identical. The Buster Keaton defending brings back not very fond childhood memories watching Antony Gardner alongside Chris Perry. We still don't win trophies. Yes, we are capable on our day of defeating a much stronger opponent - as we were back then - but then we will immediately follow that up with a piss-poor defeat against a team we should be beating. Is what we're seeing all that different to what we watched in 1998 when we somehow went from smashing Blackburn 3-0 away to losing 0-1 at Sheff Wed?

Back then, there were players who were worth the entrance fee alone to see in action. Sheringham, Klinnsman, Ginola. Who do we have now? I love watching Micky play but beyond him, no-one out there really gets people out of their seats. This is why we're so desperate to see the youngsters succeed, I think we all know deep down that the established players just aren't taking us forward.

We are in a very precarious situation atm and for all the talk of us being 3 pts off the top 3, we are closer to 14th than we are to the top 4. A couple of bad results the other side of the break, especially to the likes of Fulham, B'mouth and Soton, and we could find ourselves entering the January window firmly rooted in the bottom half of the table.

All things considered, the only glaringly obvious difference between Spurs now and Spurs under Gerry Francis is the ticket prices and facilities at the stadium. Everything else must be filed under 'TBC'.

Sorry but is this is a wind up? Some of us are at our lowest point in years yet knobheads who have the odd good day are allowed to wind us up.

Thanks for the positivity. Not even Ange’s fault. We’ve wasted or ****ed up every opportunity we’ve ever had for the 35 years I’ve been old enough to know what’s going on. Doesn’t matter who’s manager or what our team is, we’re destined to walk the desert forever.
