Yeah, it's criminal that we never tested their GK, Wolves attacked with a purpose, we never, simple as that.
I always give a man a chance and he did come in at a tricky time and got us promoted which was the best I had expected, but it is clearly not working now and he is being out match-managed too regularly.
58 years for me and I don’t remember ever feeling this desolate after 11 games of a season. There is just no prospect of things even beginning to improve. Winning last week was in spite of the way we play, not because of it. Even under Nathan Jones there was at least some entertainment in the sheer stupidity of it all, but this is simultaneously boring, predictably futile, and the exact opposite of fun.
We had 9 shots to Wolves' 8. It's not really Russ' fault if our players can't shoot on target. And at 1-1 Wolves would have had to play a more open game. I mean, I've been pissed off with Russ in other games, but we were screwed by the ref this time.
The Branfoot years were bad, ugly depressing football. Martin's style is completely different but equally depressing. Martin seems a nicer bloke than Branfoot but that is no reason to keep him
Yeah totting up & I think I’m about 57 & agree. Even with Branford at least we could see an exit. I’m worried this will just slither along. We spoke about our discounted tickets for LC QF & I said let’s wait until Monday. Makes me feel ill & im in Spain this week with 25oC & sun
I thought we had 5 for some reason…I guess with all the fun I’m having I just assumed we had won more points.
Needed 6 points minimum from Leicester, Everton and Wolves. Think now is time to say thank you and good bye.
Sorry mate, I've given him time but I just don't see any improvement, Wolves were there for the taking if we had just run at them or just put them under more pressure. The second half Russ was out managed again and Adarma stayed on too long imo. SAA needs to be given his chance, there is little to lose now.
Russell Martin's reaction to defeat at Wolves - will update as it comes through: It's football and it's about how we respond. We started the game badly with two mistakes leading to their goal. We've dominated the ball, limited them to eight shots at home and lost 2-0. It's disappointing when you're on the end of two tough calls. We should have done better. We have a lack of punch. We have to create. We need to work really hard to try and improve. I think it's open to interpretation. Semedo doesn't try to play the ball. he puts his leg across him and then there's contact. We were expecting a penalty. It is what it is. The second goal rocked us, in terms of performance, and it gave them energy, you could see that. My take on it is: if I say before the game we’re going to come and have that much of the ball in the final third, I expect us to get something from it. How dominant we are with the ball and in the final third, it’s really not easy in the Premier League that. So we have to make the most of that, and we’re not. We need to do way more in the final third. The team gets there so much, then people need to do something, express themself, play together with more energy and spark. It’s not a foul. The understanding for the guy watching it and making the decision needs to be so much better. It’s a lack of understanding of the situation. Mate, I feel under pressure every single day of the week, so that’s not going to change with this result. The players are trying their very hardest. It’s a tough day.
Well I’m 76 and been watching games or if away from the area still passionate about the team, results etc, wherever for 68 years, I dread to think what my Grandad would have said about this lot.
