I think this ‘experienced Championship manager’ thing is really overstated. Thorup is doing a decent job at Norwich and Le Bris is doing a fantastic job at Sunderland so far.

I still maintain if our players didn’t cack themselves as often as they do when it comes to the final pass or shot, we’d be a good 7 points better off than we are now which would put us in the top 6 and paper over the cracks. Derby, Portsmouth and Oxford were all winnable games if our finishing and game management was better, especially in the second halves. We win those three and we’re sitting in the play-offs right now.

Works both ways. Plenty of teams have wasted clear chances against us. If they hadn't cacked themselves we could well be adrift at the bottom of the table

I know your post was a simple, factually correct, statement regarding Robins but it has pretty much just nailed why the bed wetters in our fan base are peaking too early.

We are pretty much where a club of our size should be looking at 80% of the teams above us. We've got a strike force that would struggle to finish top scorers in league 2 and have had a couple of key players injured now. There is no god given right for us to be challenging in this league when you look at the teams we are up against. Robins, Carrick and even Roy Keane have shown you don't need to be top 10 in Novemeber to be in the play offs come May.

 

I could do with summat to help me sleep but I never take sleeping pills.
