Firstly, thanks for your input. You are in a better position than myself to know the situation given that you're actually in America, you're also obviously entitled to vote for whoever you wish and don't have to justify yourself to me. So thanks for explaining it anyway.

I fully agree with the idea that one of the main issues was with the opposition to Trump being weak. I don't mean Harris in particular but the Democrats generally, and the Biden presidency is an underlying issue. It's not that I think he's been a failure but that I just think he comes across as a bit of a forgettable wet lettuce and not exactly the inspiring leader any country wants.

What I would say though, from the outside, is that I don't need the lies or mainstream media to make my mind up on Trump as a person. His own words and his own actions are enough to make me certain that I could never have voted for him - but I appreciate there is an element of not just voting for the candidate but for his coalition. I fully agree though that the moment one side starts painting the other as uneducated it leaves a bitter taste, it's a cheap tactic.

Not as good as it sounds.

On immigration, he’s using sell o tape to fix a dam that’s bursting open. It’s noise not action. It sounds good but in reality it’s not fixing the problem.

On quotas, again it’s noise not action. He’s protecting some American jobs/industries but then making others, eg, exporting companies, go bust. It means prices go up. It means the cost of living will go up. Yes have quotas in regard to those imports ridiculously cheap because of their government support but not just carte blanche. Industries should develop and improve not simply be protected and fat.

He doesn’t believe there is an environmental crisis. What???

He’s a recently convicted felon. He shouldn’t be anywhere near this job. He incited a riot the last time he lost. This may seem OTT but Hitler used similar tactics to get into power. Identify a group to ‘hate’ and divide people. For Trump it’s immigrants. Fortunately, the American political system operates differently to ours and he’s not the leader of policy as opposed to the Republican Party but he identifies all that is wrong in politics to me just as Boris did here. It may be amusing to watch but it’s more important than that. Not all this is in reference to Roly’s post but just my views on appointing a dangerous idiot such as Trump to be the ‘face’ of America.

Was always going to be one hell of a glass ceiling to smash through to become not only first female president but also the first female black president. I thought she came across very well 4 years ago as Biden's running mate and thought back then she may run this time around, but as far as the world stage was concerned she just disappeared off the face of the planet for the first 3.5 years.

Its actually crazy that the so called leading nation for democracy in the world can't find 2 decent candidates with 2 decent sets of manifesto's for people to vote and choose which will benefit them and their families.

Instead it turned into a a petty tit for tat on who worked the longest shift in McDonalds FFS.

I honestly think the world's broke and there's no fixing it. Too many people in too many countries have completely ****ed it up. Time for National governments to go **** off and let local governments immerge and take care of the people in their communities.

I think on one hand that the world knows that Trump is pretty crazy (on a lot of levels), but on the other hand and on a world stage (and my naïve hope) that he may someone not to mess with.
Ukraine must have grave concerns now, as well our European NATO allies who know that they now will be required to pay up their fair share.
It's a shame that the democrats put everything for so long into an extremely elderly old timer, and then a woman with few ideas.

The West has allowed the rich to take complete control, which is then designed only to serve them. Politicians involved on boards is mental.

There’s so many problems and it’s beyond fixing, because the 0.1% have absolute power.

Europe is a **** show and no better than the US.

I'm reluctant to bash Americans when the state of this continent is a ****ing disgrace.

The west has allowed them? The rich have always controlled the world, the only time it ever changes is when there's a famine, then you just get new rich people that control everything.

Trump is a moron, plain and simple. Nothing to do with politics - the guy is just a complete bellend. The only thing that was disappointment during the election race was that the bullet missed his face... Sadly I don't blame the 'Muricans as voting for Harris/Biden wasn't any better. Bit like over here - there are two dominant parties who are both ****ing ****e and no sensible alternative:

I guess the key difference is over here that after Boris ****ed and the Tories ****ed up so spectacularly, they lost by a landslide....however despite being one of the worst presidents ever, a disgusting piece of **** and an utter clown, Trump only lost narrowly last time and then got straight back in. Ok over here there are some Tory strongholds, but nothing like the vast braindead deep south that Trump could always rely on.

There's no difference whatsoever with people. Just a different electoral system.

If it was a two party state entirely (it is now really, but other parties eat votes) it would have been extremely close.

You think Labour would have won 70-80% of a national vote if it was Labour v Tories at the last election no other options?

    Not a chance.

Tbf raping one person's dad would have been tiny compared to the detrimental effect that Trump has had on the world, and will have on the world going forward.

    Are you American?

You said "your countries" and have extremely vitriolic opinions about this guys homeland, a homeland where he served in its military.

Find it baffling that someone who isn't even from someone's country could have such over the top opinions on their voting intention.

And while we are at it - let's just clarify that, yes, Trump was found guilty of rape.

    Stop whinging about him then.

You couldn't even vote for him, he's in a different country.

    Like?

Nothing's changed at all since he lost office.

Things in the UK are ****ter than they've been for a while, but people in the UK don't give a **** about that. They care more about how people in Mississippi voted.
