Only because he put Rigg there in the cup, against Preston incidentally. Must admit having looked at how they're listed in the clubs tweet I think you're right tbh
Also it goes without saying as we knew it was coming, but after the scare at the weekend how good is it to see Rigg’s name on that team sheet
Thrilled to see Watson get his first start in the league tonight. Connolly looks like a player made for this league too, I think he's going to be great once he gets up and running. Tricky game tonight though. A point will be fine, a win will be great.
Brave team selection which could go either way. Regardless shakes up everyone and nobody can take selection for granted which has to be a positive. Strong bench which highlights how far we have come in a short period. Keep building and planning for the future.
we have to have 18+ squad players ready and up to speed to play any game when needed .Looking fwd to see how this works .
The surprise for me isn’t that he’s changed one winger, it’s that he’s done both at the same time. Like I said, I like it. It’s bold. Got no problems with knowing how Connolly will press up top but do have a slight concern of Isidor defensively in the 4-4-2 shape. That would need him to come quite narrow and disciplined. Roberts and Mundle been tremendous at it. Unless of course we are changing defensive shape.
After the past weeks events and as a big supporter of Tommy Watson I.m not sure that this is the game to give him his debut , its a very strange and uncharacteristic decision by Reggie. imo. Mundle Connolly and Isidor up front would have been my choice for this particular game. With Rigg in the advanced mid field role. Heres hoping fortune favours the brave as we could do with six points from our next two games to pile the pressure on the following pack, before yet another senseless disruption to our domestic game.
I expect it'll be Isidor on the right and Watson on the left, very much looking forward to seeing how them and Connolly get on.
I still think a point is a good result tonight. I know many want and expect a win. I’d rather we kept up this unbeaten streak. I’m not bothered about putting pressure on the teams behind.
Could go either way tonight but would be superb if we got such a good win that it caused RLB to think does he put Roberts & Mundle straight back in on Saturday. Like SA said I would accept the point now though.
Glad he's changed it tonight. We need to keep our team fresh and the lads can't play every minute. 3 academy graduates in our midfield is class like. Imagine if they all scored
Reason this is so exciting for me, other than my doubts about Reg not tinkering being blown away, is I can picture this team really being perfect against Preston. If we'd started just Isidor instead of Isidor and Connolly I'd be thinking "are we gonna be dynamic enough for their formation", hope we are hailing him as messiah after tonight!
So nothing much to say about us by the sky presenters and I've got a feeling it's gonna be a Preston love in on the commentary, but that suits me as I like them not taking notice of us
yep. We’re top of the table. Preston beating us is bigger news than us beating them. It’s a compliment.
