<peacedove>After seeing off Byer Leverkusen with a convincing win Aston Villa are on mission to Anfield in the league. A win for Liverpool Will ensure that Liverpool are at the top of the table during international break. Alexis Mac Aliister must avoid a yellow card here and also away to Southampton to make sure that he is not serving a one match ban when we play Manchester City after international break
    Game: Liverpool v Aston Villa
    Date Saturday 9th November 2024.
    Venue: Anfield
    Time:20:00

If Mac picked up the yellow against Villa why would he miss the City game - does he not miss the Southampton one ?

No he is only going to miss Southampton. It's only one game ban.

Crap KO time. Just win. Jones making himself hard to drop he's properly stepped up this season.

Not the first time he's stepped up like this. The question is, can he sustain it

He seems to be at the moment and he seems stronger on the ball. It's a good problem.

Sustain it / stay fit. His runs of good form tend to be stopped by injury.

Jones did something really interesting yesterday for that assist.

He was in effect standing in a striker role engaging a cb and then dropped back to between the liens and their cb didn't follow and their midfield was up the park (big gap between their lines)

He was suddenly in acres of space that he made for himself and then played a really good pass for the assist.

That kind of movement is extremely intelligent.

Leverkusen will however be kicking themselves over that space existing to drop into

Jones just gets better with time. Back in the dark ages I thought he'd never amount to much, but he's a valuable member of the squad now and I hope he just continues to get better.

    Right now

    Kelleher
    Trent
    Konate
    Vvd
    Tsimikas
    Gravenberch
Macallister (this guy is burning out)
    Jones/Szoboszlai
    Salah
    Nunez
    Gakpo

Diaz at cf won't work in the prem imo

I think we might start having to rotate Jones and macca not Jones and szobo soon

Robertson is now second choice it seems. (I'd worry about tsimikas in the prem as he will be targeted aerially)

We are 1 game now away from alisson, Jota and Elliott return dates. Win this game and we have pissed through those injuries.

What makes you think Robbo is second choice?

Slot came out and said that Robbo missed all of pre season with injury so has had to come back slowly and they don’t want to risk him with 2 games a week.

When robbo starts in the league cup then tsimikas plays the league and the cl you have to start to wonder.

Since the arsenal game maybe just a thought as slot takes no prisoners.

    Tsimikas played 79mins v palace
    International break
    Robbo played v chelsea
    Tsimikas played 75mins v leipzig
Robbo played 63mins v arsenal and was taken off while we were losing.
Robbo then played 90 v Brighton in the league cup and I was really surprised by that. I had expected tsimikas here.
Tsimikas played 90 v Brighton in the league
Now tsimiakas played 81 mins v leverkusen

Maybe there's an issue we don't know about. But it does look like the natural order might have flipped for some reason as tsimikas was playing the "bigger" games just in thr last week.

I guess only time will tell.

Maybe Slot is rotating them more - rather than the clear first and second choice Klopp decided upon.

Slot loves to rest the FBs anyway, he's been taking Trent off every game
