Did he have much to say about timur and ogunsunyi? Both seem to perform very well at that level would be interested to know how close they are to being ready for some Mens footy
He really likes Ogunsunyi, says he's very raw but you can tell he's a player Didny say anything about Timur He's been at a few of our games this season, unsurprisingly he loves Watson n really likes Harrison jones as well
Good to hear! I’ve liked what I’ve seen of jones too, very small lad though, Not sure if they’re ready for it yet but with blyth struggling like mad (had loads of loans go back to their parent clubs lately too) wonder if we send a few younguns up there, selfishly hope they do with it being right on my doorstep
There's a curve in development each season, players going from mainly u18, to partially u21, then exclusively u21 and finally either first team or loans. I feel like Caden Kelly and Ben Crompton are the two that are now in the final phase, sometimes players can be sped through the process a bit (Rigg, Watson etc). Ben Crompton is out of contract in the summer and will turn 21 in December. I suspect he'll get loaned out towards the back end of the season and any decision on his contract will wait to see what he does on loan.
Crompton is one I would keep and loan out. Just something about him that makes me think he will make a very good player
Same. I like him a lot, but I also liked Ellis Taylor, Ollie Younger etc and they didn't make it, the jump between u21 and league football is enormous and brutal for most of these young lads.
Yes that's very true Just think he has the awareness and touch to play league football and would like to see him get the chance
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...-chaos-sunderland-striker-hope-coburn-latest/ Nice bit in this round up about Ogunsuyi: SUNDERLAND STRIKER STAKES CLAIM Manchester United now know why Sunderland have such high hopes for Trey Ogunsuyi! The striker has already had a taste of the Sunderland first team this season, having been named on the bench for the games against Plymouth and Middlesbrough in September. And although Regis Le Bris' attacking options were boosted by the return of Eliezer Mayenda at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, Ogunsuyi will inevitably get another opportunity if he keeps putting in performances like the one against United for the Under-21s on Saturday. The young striker, who doesn't turn 18 until December, scoring two in the first half and then turned provider for Timur Tuterov after the break, as Graeme Murty's side ran out 5-2 winners. That's now six wins in a row in all competitions for Sunderland's youngsters. And for Ogunsuyi, it's four goals in his last four Under-21s appearances. He's also scored three goals in his two outings for the Under-18s this season. Earlier this season, Le Bris said of the promising teenager: "At the minute, he is still a young player who needs to discover more about our environment and the experience of being with professional players. "He needs time to develop, for sure. But he has many qualities and he is a very interesting player for the future."
Nice little article by Tutierov on how he's settling in now... https://x.com/AcademyOfLight/status/1853785626338013390?t=3KHfjr9-0QqyD2g0QK9Ptw&s=19

We don’t see what goes on behind the scenes but I reckon he could offer something personally. Rusyn on the bench ahead of him on Saturday… pointless to me like. He’s never getting on ahead of Connolly and Mayenda. Waste.
