They tried to storm the capitol to prevent Biden being elected because their party leader had told them it was stolen when it wasn’t.

They didn’t take guns because if they did, they’d have been shot by the police. They had plenty of other weapons though. In fact, the Proud Boys did have guns, they were found in the hotel room.

It was hardly a proper storming
They just went in, took some photos at some desks

    Was a small riot

And the main ones got few years in jail

    Majorly overblown
Like it was some failed coup

People will believe what they want to believe because it suits them to. No evidence will change that.

Again, not the same. When were the doors of Parliament kicked in by Tory supporters to prevent Labour from taking power?

This is exactly my point, it’s the constant false equivalences.
Both are bad things, one is a lot worse than the other. Because one happened doesn’t excuse the other, why does this keep being used as discussion technique?

Because it's Castro. It's what he does. Constantly conflate unrelated subjects in an attempt to justify his own narrative.

They were trying to break into the room where the house was sitting. The capitol police shot somebody for it, come on. They attacked Capitol police throughout the evening, crushing them in doors, smashing them with bats and so on. And as for the “guiding cops”, they were lone people facing an enormous angry mob, they’re not gonna go Chuck Norris are they? They guided the mob away from key areas but one cop against all those people isn’t going to have much of a chance are they? Even if they drew their gun they’d have been swamped by sheer numbers.

This sanewashing is so tiresome. And, the keg part, why did they go home when Donald Trump asked them to if they were just there for a laugh?

My point is it wasnt a real attempt at a coup
It was an angry crowd who went too far and many rightly got imprisoned

    Im not a trump fan

But it doesn’t justify it, the two things aren’t comparable.

Fox News do it constantly “Trump charged with rape/fraud/election interference, but what about this parking ticket Kamala Harris got 20 years ago…”. What about it? What the ****?!

It's also what GB news does. Stands out a mile.

Suspect someone's been a little 'overexposed' but not in a Vern kinda way.

I didn’t say you were, but let’s have it right, they didn’t have any right to be angry, they had been lied to and setting that aside, they knew it was against the law to break into a building that was closed for the public. They wanted Mike Pence to deny certification and when he didn’t, Trump tweeted that Pence had let them down and they went mental and tried to stop it themselves.

It wasn’t just that they wanted to be edgelords and go in, there was a purpose to it.

Well they don’t count, they’re the news equivalent of getting your foreskin trapped in your zipper.

It was part of a coordinated plan to pressurise officials into not ratifying the electoral votes. That was the coup attempt. The capital riot was merely a part of that.

Well the 'militant left' can't deface war memorials if they're covered in piss and empty lager cans now can they?

    Absolute genius.

Well it's a good job you've never shown any bias against BLM supporters and the like, otherwise some may be questioning the validity of your concerns. :emoticon-0105-wink:
