Hopes and dreams for the window?

Honestly just a RCB would do for me plus replacing any like for like outgoings with upgrade (e.g. RW = Almiron/Murphy out - Mbuemo/Semenyo would be perfect) and then just for the 890th window in a row - get rid of the dead wood - Wilson, Almiron, Target and a GK or two....

That’s a huge risk. The negative impact on performances at the start of this season can’t fester again. We need an influx of players, two I’d say, and about four gone. Jonathan David and Murillo in, Almiron, Wilson, Trippier, Lascelles out.

Apparently David is asking for a shed tonne of cash. Unless he's an actual replacement for Isak I can't see that happening?!

No because this summer the 100 million plus they spent in the 1st window drops off. If Newcastle are in and around the top 6 come January I'd do nothing unless the right players at the right price are availables.. unfortunately that is seldom the case in January.

Well according to you we will be nowhere near top 6.
Also, the argument you proposed was the argument given for last summer as well. Hmmm.....

Exactly, so if Newcastle are anywhere near top 6 it's already a good season way above my expectations.... don't spend just to keep the Neanderthals happy.. only if it's the right players.

lol, “weeks”. How are the Amorim doubters getting on? At least we’ve kept Eddie.

Thiaw scored for Milan, 3-1 away at Madrid. Now that IS one that got away.

I suspect this lame approach won’t be on the agenda again.

I just think some of the names people get sucked into believing we'll sign are out of our reach at the moment.

Twitter morons, maybe, but on here I think we're fairly realistic. David's not coming, we all know that, unless we're cashing in on Isak. Honestly, I love Isak, he's an incredible player. But if Arsenal want to spend £100m and we can get David for free, we have to be interested. Plus we could still be rid of Wilson, if Osula comes good and this new Georgian plays a bit part in his development.

Same with Bruno G, to be honest. If Madrid fancy spending £100m and Tonali moves into his best position, we have to think about it as we're already well stocked on midfielders.

That said, I cannot see any scenario where Newcastle would spend money on DCL. He will depreciate in value, is unreliable, would see himself as number 1 and is far too costly.

Since the penny dropped when Andy Cole was sold I have always realised it's not who you sell that counts but who you replace that person with.

I wouldn't want either Isak or Bruno to go but at some stage they will and it will be a question of who the new man is as to whether selling either or both was/were a good deal or not.

    Sell Barnes.

If longstaffs stock is at an all time high sell him, but keep the few top players we have and add to them.

No need to sell isak or Guimaraes yet unless they really want out ... which might be the case in the summer of course.

We’ve seen this Summer under finance rules that we have to be realistic. One superstar will likely be sold at some point and the fan base have to keep their heads (they won’t).

As above with @Delusional Full Stop s comment, it’s what we do with it.

Barnes, however, remains the biggest **** up of the new owners regime so far. Absolutely pointless waste of time, effort and money. A truly stupid and maddening transfer.

Some other club will give Newcastle their money back on Barnes. It's the ideal solution.
