After a great run from SuffolkCanary with Sainz playing like Messi we appear to have hit a sticky patch. A run of draws ending in a disappointing late late loss in Wales . Gunn is a huge loss , as is Nunez, McLean & Sargent. The display & effort the patched up squad put in was commendable but it wasn't quite enough . Onwards & upwards hopefully & content to follow
Forsyth out of tomorrows game with knee injury. The worst news - Sargent requires surgery - out for 8 weeks
Thorup's priority up to now, including last Saturday, has been to keep embedding the style of play. So when first choice starters have been unavailable, someone comes in to play the same role. But wth, e.g. Forsyth's injury, we've simply run out of players to maintain that strategy, and In today's press conference, he implied we'd maybe see a change of approach (e.g. he mentioned the threat posed by Wednesday's wing backs, and maybe going with wing backs ourselves to counter it). Wednesday press energetically man to man; I'd like to see Kellen Fisher doing a job on Bannan!
The positive for me is that we'll probably see more of Schwartau and have Crnac playing in what I understood to be his preferred position more central.
I’ve just seen that Ken Aboh is back playing for the u21s tonight, but he failed to make an impact on loan
That's a team we might put out for an early round of the League Cup, with the bench crowded with U21s. If they perform anywhere near Saturday's starters, we are in for another pleasing surprise and maybe even a treat. COYY
PinkUn have said that Aboh has been back at the club for rehab following an injury and is only eligible to play for u21s not the first team. Hernandez thinks he might be available for the weekend
